He's clearly sending the message that they need to get past mad, to make the most methodical deal.... otherwise why haven't they made the deal? He claims to have deals on the table that includes all-stars....he claims to be empathetic to PG wanting to go home....(shrug)

Just a thought, had they accepted the reality a week ago, they could have had D'Angelo Russell

Exactly and waiting till after the draft to trade was a mistake as well.

Time for him to stop bluffing and make the grown man move. George's value is only going down for them by the day.

It sure is. If the Pacers come back to us, I hope this is how it goes:

"Hi, Rob? This is Kevin Pritchard. OK, fine, we're ready to accept your offer of Jordan Clarkson, Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart, and Corey Brewer for Paul George."

"I'm sorry Kevin, that deal is now off the table."

"What?"

"We live in a different world than we did before the draft."

"What do you want to offer now?"

"We'll give you Clarkson, Thomas Bryant...and hey, Bryant went to Indiana, so your fans will have familiarity with him...Denver's 2018 2nd round pick, Chicago's 2019 2nd round pick, and Brewer."

"Add in your 2020 1st round pick and you have a deal."

"No, I'm sorry, that's too much. If you want the 2020 1st rounder, we'll also add Julius Randle to the deal, but then you have to take Deng too."

"F*@k that. We can't take Deng."

"Then I'm afraid we aren't getting anywhere."

"Is there anything else you can offer?"

"Final offer: Clarkson, Bryant, Brewer, and the 2020 1st rounder, top-10 protected in '20 and top-5 protected in '21 and unprotected in '22, for Paul George. If we give you the 2020 1st then we are keeping our two 2nd's."

"Alright, sh*t. Deal."

Yeah- I don't think they drafted these guys to trade them

Offers aren't good indefinitely.

New offer is JC + Brewer + Denver 2nd + Laker 2019 2nd

(Not going to give them the Bulls 2019 2nd- that could be the 31st pick in the draft.)

If they don't want to take that offer, we'll just get PG as a FA.

eh, we'd probably still have mozgov on the squad in that case. I like our current look, I think the future is bright

Should have been done after they got George.

Frankly I thought the trade wasn't going to happen but when a teams GM comes out and talks like Pritchard just did to the press I will ASTOUNDED if Paul George is in an Indiana jersey on opening night.

To recap we've now had
1. The player in question say that he doesn't want to play for the Pacers and wants to go to LAL (I mean allegedly of course but since nearly the entire media is running with it I'd say it was true)
2. The GM of the team in question talking about the options he has to trade George for in the press.

I can't see a scenario where this ends with Paul George in a Pacers jersey next season. If you were a Pacers fan how would that make you feel? You'd be mad at George for not wanting to be there and mad at your front office for letting him go for nothing.

And with how they dragged this out; I'm pretty sure that's all they'll get in a trade deal. The picks held more value to the Pacers than the players we have now selected with them because we selected the players WE want and think fit OUR system. Now I think you're talking JC/Brewer and future picks if this happens however I've got a strong feeling lately that Randle will be included. There's a cap saving to be had next summer when he wants to be paid and if the FO aren't sold on him then they'll use him to sweeten the pot in a George deal and hope that one of the rookies and whoever they can pick up on a 1+1 in free agency will cover what he was bringing to the table.

VERY interesting time to be a Lakers fan, I haven't got a clue what roster we'll be playing with in NBA 2k18 at this point

I am not really worried for bringing Paul George. He will sign for the lakers next summer. For this year its a lost cause anyway.
Maybe its completely wrong thinking from my side but its even better like that. We have this year to develop Ingram even more with the more shoots and also Hart can have a lot more chances to play. It will give them more chance to improve without pressure. Even with George we it would be hard to catch Playoff next season so....

Probably not a real consequence but by trading DLO, LA gave up the possibility of a banana boat 2.0 when the 2015 draft class is up for their 3rd contract. DLO's super close with Booker and KAT.

I'm not even convinced randle is on the table anymore I think we told them that the offers are only going to get worse not better

Same here. I'm hoping it is Nance instead of Julius.

Not going to happen. They value Nance highly because of his cheap contract and what he brings to the team. They likely don't want to pay Randle next season and I'm almost certain that he's going to get dealt before next summer, either in the PG deal if we make it, or in some other deal.

Clarkson, Bryant and future 1st rounder.....if they do not want than screw them.....I wouldn't do anything more than this. Just wait for the next summer.

I do too and I think we will.

Offers are only going to get worse, Mr. Pritchard.

That would be about 7 years from now. Yeah, I don't think we were waiting around for that.

Nobody is taking randle bro
Lakers need to find a way to dump his 12 million dollar cap hold in 2018. We might just have to wave him.

What a dumb comment, they don't have to find a way to do anything. As you said, they could just renounce and get rid of the hold.

That sounds about right.

Pritchard so full of BS- just like when he was running the Jail Blazers.

Right, or at least put him in the PG deal if you can, as securing PG now is a better outcome than just renouncing Randle next year without PG already on the team.

Take this FWIW: Hearing #Celtics in position to deal 4 George with 3-yr ext in place, but will depend on signing Hayward 1st. Lotsa dominos.

IF true - and things like this could easily fall apart - would explain #Celtics reluctance to deal for Jimmy Butler.

If the lakers traded for PG now, then cleared Deng, Clarkson, Randle after next year, couldn't they extent PG and still have the 2 max slots?

If we don't trade for him, and clear the above guys, then we will have 2 slots to sign PG and another guy.

If so, big motivation to try to trade for him now.

Stop posting garbage rumors from Journalists/radio hosts looking to get attention.

A sure sign that someone is pushing some BS is that tried and true "things like this could easily fall apart" line or "It might not pan out because things are changing rapidly".

When you look closely they're really not saying anything.
