This is why you set time limits on offers. You don't just give out indefinite offers that people can accept whenever they please.

You only set time limits if you're prepared to walk away. You know magic is just as desperate as Pritchard right now.

Nah, after this nice draft, Magic be like:

Pritchard is all like:

His fan base is all like:

And in the end, given a bit of time, LG will be like:

Jimmy Butler ended up fetching significantly less than I thought he would. They got a player coming off an ACL tear, a second year player who had a mediocre rookie season, and moved up 9 spots in the draft. That was a terrible return.

But all things considered, the package for George has to be significantly less than what the Bulls got for Butler. So it's amusing that Pritchard is now holding out for more for a guy who is essentially a rental. We don't know the Lakers offer, but multiple first round picks and at least one pretty good young player does not seem like a low ball offer to me anymore. The Bulls already set the market when they traded Butler.

I'm not even convinced randle is on the table anymore I think we told them that the offers are only going to get worse not better

For rental type offers, probably.

I thought Chicago could get LaVine and the lottery pick. Randle or Clarkson would be comparable.

There is no team George can be sent to other than the Cavs, Spurs or Celtics that would make him forgoe hitting free agency next summer and coming to LA. If he's traded to any other team he'll be a Laker in 2018.

Dunn had a mediocre rookie season. And he was an older rookie, at that. I've never been much of a LaVine fan, but some people like him. You'll never win a title with him as your second player, let alone first. Butler is probably a top 10 player in the league. It's embarrassing the package the Bulls got out of this. He still had two years left in his deal and didn't want to leave Chicago. Either way, the value of George went down after that deal went down. George is rental who is leaving your franchise if it's not LA.

Depends on how much he wants to come to LA. All indications are that he really wants to come here, so yeah, i'm sure they're letting the word stay out there. Otherwise he would already be in Boston or Cleveland by now.

I'm starting to think (based on the Indiana GM's nutty tweets) that if Boston or Cleveland don't bite, they keep him in Indiana for the year just out of spite.

Randle reportedly doesn't even have enough value for a 1st rounder. Don't overrate him as an asset.

At least that's what I read on LG somewhere

I hope Randle stays a Laker long enough to prove that too.

May be just me but I have no problem with Magic not flinching and caving in on this trade. I am happy he has so far proved me wrong.

I am comfortable with being patient and letting this roster play it out. would love to see some vet mentoring brought in but overall happy with seeing what this team can do. Then add George if he is available.

That would be really dumb by their GM. If it is out of spite.

believe me, I don't. But they will still regret turning down that deal. They won't get a better one than that. A young, below average starting PF and two late first rounders in a deep draft. They won't beat that. I don't think they'll get close to that.
