Lonzo can't start off the season like Ingram did. That was some crap-the-bed moments for a young Ingram.
Simmons will come out guns blazing, with a year to get stronger and observe the NBA game. Fultz may not put up as great #s with Simmons running the show. It is truly possible but Lonzo needs to hit it fast. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I expect something similar to what he did in UCLA, but I hope that he takes to NBA skill development, and becomes better at getting his own shot and taking over, as well as increasing his strength/athleticism. |

He doesn't draw very many fouls and is hardly in a position to do so. He also has a hard time turning the corner on screens. He's pretty slow laterally and I don't expect that to change much but his willingness to pass, and pass that sucker fast will open the game up big time. He will affect the game in ways that won't show up in the stats.
9 points
4 rebs
5 assists
3 TOs
30% 3pts
43% FG
70% FT
He just isn't shifty enough to get those hard buckets around the basket. |
I disagree on the points. He'll get enough open looks in transition from 3 and at the rim to get double digits. Plus he scores a lot off the ball too. |

Very short term expectations: average 15 ast in summer league winning the title making good use of Ingram, Zubac and the other guys.
Short term expectations: start from day one after earn it in training camp, ROY, all rookie 1st team, improving our record.
Career expectations: multiple all stars, perennial MVP contender.
At the end of career expectations: no less than 4 titles, jersey in the rafters, first ballot HOF, top 5 PG all time.
Modest expectations. |

According to magic he's the face of the franchise and pelinka says he's a transcendent talent. Magic also said he expects his jersey to be retired...talk about setting the bar pretty damn high |

If the Lakers just get a few more wins than last year even with all the pieces they lost and with just adding Lonzo, I think Lonzo will be a lock for ROY. |

Let me tell you guys something in advance, I'm not Magic
I tell I like Ingram, Zubac and Nance and someone reports the FO think they are our cornerstones
I tell we need to clean some cap space and he puts us in position to sign 2 max players
I tell we desperately need a real lead guard and he drafts one
I tell Lonzo will have his jersey retired and after 5 minutes he tells the same in a press conference
I'm a Lakers fan since Magic rookie season ...
Let's bring showtime back |

I expect a lot from him, really. I do think he's special.
But, not on Year 1. He will struggle to learn the game, adapt his shot to the NBA defense, learn how to run the offense and how to play defense (if we have personnel to teach him so).
He will have awful games and fantastic games. He will have moments of pure brilliance and terrible turnovers. He will score some sick long 3s and he will airball.
I wouldn't put my money on him as ROY, but he will be the best of his class, after all is said and done. _________________ .... |

Lonzo is no Magic Johnson. No one is. He cannot score like Magic.
More like Jason Kidd.
Lonzo will struggle a little at the beginning getting used to the speed of the game.
Maybe go 10 pts, 7 assists, 3 reb, 2 steals.
And be 2 or 3 fpr ROY.
Will need some time to learn his teammates. |
