I do think if things pan out right, he can be a 1st team all rookie. He will be given a lot of chances to put up some good overall #s.

Pass well, hit some threes, and recruit Lebron. Basically everything he's done before.

I like how the FO spent the last month "humbling" him by floating BS rumors about how they're not in love with him, out of shape, we're looking at other guys, etc. then last night he was described as "transcendent" "genius" and compared to Magic repeatedly. So much for that "humbling" process. Hope he isn't too "cocky" and more importantly, he is a "high character" guy.

Having said all that, I'm excited. I saw footage of him in high school, and watched every UCLA game because of him, so it's pretty cool he's a Laker now. Everyone is going to love this guy, and if it wasn't for his dad, we'd be talking way more about this guy, He's special.

Dont wanna put too much pressure on him since hes 19 and still has holes ij his game.

But Ill be disappointed if he didnt make an immediate impact on our win total and team culture.I think all we need to do is sign 2 shooters in FA and our at times unwatchable incompetence from recent years will be a distant memory.

If Lonzo gets 30+ minutes per game I suspect these numbers will be close to right, but his FG% will be over 50% because he doesn't force 2pt shots. He'll take contested, step back 3's though.

I think early on Lonzo will look to Lopez and maybe Deng like he did Leaf and Welsh. Hopefully the guys play a lot together during the off season because Lonzo's style is so different. You will actually see guys like Randle and JC giving the ball up early because they know Lonzo is looking to get them easy baskets and not looking for his own. When Lonzo is on the floor, the guy without the ball is looking to score. He would rather take 3 shots and let everyone else score, but he's also very adept at taking and making shots at key moments in the game.

The face of the Lakers moving forward. Our best point guard since Magic Johnson. This is who we are building the team around. Not Paul George, not Lebron. They would be nice additions but this is Lonzo's team now. Big expectations moving forward.

He will make some mistakes, but I look for a noticeable difference on the floor in tempo, effort and cohesion right away.

This is my expectation more than any particular points or assist numbers. We're going to have improved team identity soon if not immediately. I'm not as crazy high on Lonzo as some. But, there's no denying that he's a great fit for Luke's system. Ball movement and transition play should be much better.

Agreed. This is Lonzos team now. We got our Magic. We potentially have our Worthy. Just need to start putting pieces around them.

I will be severely let down if we have another season like the past one. Time to start getting some respect

I have low expectations for Ball.

Average a triple double for the season.
Rookie of the year.
All star team selection.
Leads the team to the western conference finals.
Takes GSW to seven games before bowing out.

I actually don't want him leading the league in apg. Nowadays, leading the league in Apg often means only one point of attack. I'd be happy if he peaked at around 7 - 8 apg

You don't know Lonzo then. He has the potential to lead the league in assists with a low usage rate. He isn't ball dominant yet gets a bunch of assists, that's probably the main reason he was seen as an elite prospect.

Nah. The fan base is terribly forgiving when we draft the guy we want. His treatment will be closer to Ingram than Russell.

This is true.

Ingram's growth curve was steep. If Lonzo has that kind of effect on the team where we're peaking after the all-star break and winning games then he'll be given the same treatment.

DLo never showed that kind of growth. The numbers improved due to more opportunities with Lou/Kobe out, but he looked pretty much like the same player.

and then a better improvement next year.

I'm a fan of his and watched a lot of his games. His points won't translate but everything else will.

He doesn't draw very many fouls and is hardly in a position to do so. He also has a hard time turning the corner on screens. He's pretty slow laterally and I don't expect that to change much but his willingness to pass, and pass that sucker fast will open the game up big time. He will affect the game in ways that won't show up in the stats.

9 points
4 rebs
5 assists
3 TOs
30% 3pts
43% FG
70% FT

He just isn't shifty enough to get those hard buckets around the basket.

Daddy Ball has placed a HUGE target on his son's back and Lonzo will be under a lot of pressure and scrutiny out the gate. If he is able to flourish in spite of all that...we got something real nice.

I see him coming in and instantly having a LeBron/Kidd effect on the success of the team. 16/8/5 is not out of the question and it's what I will be expecting.
