Kid is already arguably a Top 15 player in the league and is looking like the next Dirk. You're drafting a kid like Ball and HOPING that he turns into a Top 15 player 2-3 years down the line.
George, Porzingis and Lebron with Ingram continuing to develop?

George (fa)
Ingram
KP
Cousins
James or Cousins fit either way with KP. That's a potent core. |

No. They want a top 3 pick AND an established young player.
Wanted Suns to give 4th pick And Booker.
So it would be something like 2 and Ingram (though he's not established by any means). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I've read this board and people said Russell is better than Porzingis! |
A stretch 7-footer who can handle the ball and anchor the defense is more rare than what DLo brings to the table.
Man, imagine the length with Ingram, George and KP. We wouldn't be at the bottom of the league in defense anymore. |

So now we see proof that the Lakers really screwed up drafting Russell if the price tag is that high for Porzingis. I don't hate Magic, I hate Buss!!!! |

He wants the pick to draft Jackson, then also another young starter.
Yesterday I read the Suns offered the 4th pick and Phil asked for Booker, 4rh pick and one of their lottery picks from last year.
KP's value is probably the highest it will ever be and Phil can probably yield the most he ever could. I don't think he is looking just for the pick. He'll ask and get more.
I think we should pass becasue the asking price is going to be too high. |
Agree. What Porzingis did to Phil at the exit meetings has been consuming the Zen Master with a rare element of rage unseen since the Kobe for Kidd/Marion trade rumors. I don't blame Phil for being upset, he said that no player has ever done that to him in his 30 years and KP continues to ignore his calls/texts. If he does that to Phil, wonder what he does to another organization? |

I could see Phil caving for Phoenix's #4 and Bledsoe. That's about as good a return as they'll find. |

It amazes me how you guys downplay the talent of Porzingis but act as if Russell was some kind of 10x all-star in the making and the trade will haunt us for decades.
I really don't understand the logic around here sometimes. |

No. This simply proves Laker fans overvalued Russell. The market dictates what the player is worth. |

Not if you intentionally pollute the market with propaganda. They could have made his value much higher. |

nobody brought up russell. we don't know what will become of him.
porzingis is not a top 15, not top 20, not a top 30 player in this league. his production and efficiency is absolutely average at best. if you wanna ignore the numbers it's cool, it's expected. him being tall doesn't make him a defensive anchor(he's not) and he's average at best from three, which is his selling point |

I wasn't around when Russell was drafted but were there people that wanted Porzingis? I thought Okafor was the pick and was surprised |

It was mostly pro Okafor by draft night when it was clear KAT was going to the twolves.
Less than 2-3 people amongst the thousand plus here wanted Porky. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

the only way lakers get porzingis is by trading ball, and probably ingram. i'd trade ingram straight up for porzingis just cause he has shown more, but i wouldn't trade ball(assuming the #2 is ball) |

Poll any GM or scout around the league about which player under 25 they would want to build their team around and Porzingis would be on the short list for every one of them.
Is he a defensive anchor? No, and he probably never will be.
He's essentially Gasol 2.0 with an extra 3 inches. I'll take that every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
A talented, high b-ball IQ big who can be a key piece of your team for the next 12 years. |

It truly is scary how brainwashed some Lakers fans are when it comes to Lonzo Ball.
You do not, i repeat, you DO NOT turn down a 21 year old, 7'3 stretch power forward/center who block shots, rebounds & hits threes, for a guy who hasnt played a second in the league.
Kristaps is PROVEN, Ball is not.
The Lakers could get a point guard by some other means.
Again, it is so incredibly scary how brainwashed people are when it comes to Ball.
