I think he's overrated but I do think he'd improve the team. However, I hope we don't trade for him because I am pretty sure that will mean we overpaid. Boston is interested, is in relative contention with their current team, and has more tradable assets than we do. If we get him instead of Boston, it means we overpaid.

A core of Porzingis/Ingram/PG13 would be hard to stop. Too versatile and mobile.

It's not so much that I'm in love with Ball as much as I'm not as high on Ingram as other people are. Not that I don't like Ingram, but Porzingis is a 7-footer who stretches the floor, runs it and would benefit even more from playing off a guard with passing and vision like Ball. I basically view Ingram and Ball as roughly equal prospects given most of what makes Ingram "untouchable" is about measurables and potential than actual production.

ONLY if we got NY's #8 pick back, 'cause we'd still need to get a PG and Smith would hopefully be on the board (unless Ball stonewalls like a mother and is still left, then of course we grab Lonzo).

Our #2 and Randle for NY's #8 and Porzingis?

I'd feel awful about it... but I'd do it. Imagine this lineup next year...

C - Lopez
PF - Porzingis
SF - Ingram
SG - Clarkson
PG - Smith

Bench - Nance/ Deng/ Nwaba/ Zubac/ Black/ No. 27/ No. 28

Our backcourt would be THIN/ anorexic... but the talent up front while loading up for PG would be a HUGE leap forward.

I'm afraid the Celtics will get Porzingas.

If they want young players...they have Jaylan Brown,

If they want picks, they have #3, two #1s in 18 and 19.

I'm afraid Ainge's draft hoarding (and Phil Jacksons authority) may pay off big here for the hated Celtics.

Phil is pissed that KP missed his exit interview. Phil is trading away the only thing he got right as a GM.

I would do this if the FO and PG13 have already agreed behind the scenes that he's coming one way or another. PG13-Porky-Ingram-DSJ is an exciting roster to grow forward.

As much as Phil gets criticized, he's asking Boston for both Brooklyn Picks, Brown, Crowder.

In hindsight, I wish we had the #3 pick in 15 and Philly had the #2 pick. That way, they would've picked DLO and we'd have Porzingis

Phil will only trade Porzingis for a ton of assets (Boston) or do something like this with the Lakers:

#2
Randle
Deng
Clarkson
Black
2020 1st

for

Porky
Melo
Noah
#8

Or if our front office is insane they might offer #2 and Ingram.

Phil is trying to cash in big for Porz...getting him now would gut
the team....

Same for PG, Indi is going for gold. Magic needs to give it a
reasonable try and then back off.

I'd try to sway Gordan H. in FA if PG can not get done...

It's more than a concern, in my opinion. It's almost a certainty. Guys that size always have foot/knee problems, and he already does. He came into the league wearing wraps, and you can tell from his gait that his knees aren't right. It's why I wasn't mad at not getting him in the draft, and wouldn't trade a lot for him now. Wouldn't give up either the 2 or Ingram. You don't think that devious bastard Phil knows something he's not telling?

No, I'm sure he meant grandfather offer, as in Boston will send Bill Russell to NY for Porzingis! If history has taught us anything, Phil and the Knicks will be all over this deal!

Of course Phil has some inside info. I wouldn't deal.

And Clarkson us our starting PG? Not feeling it . We land Ball, then we can fill in the gaps.

Ball and Clarkson can fit together IMO.

Great potential in transition and while Ball is a fantastic passer that would quickly hit the open man, Clarkson can attack the basket and run some pick and roll plays. Lopez helps here because he is a good shooter for a center with 3pt range and is also a very good passer.

The problem would be on defense where I believe we have to make good use of Nance and PG13 (if we get him) patrolling the perimeter and providing some coverage for or guards. Lopez is a good man defender and decent rim protector, but just like Zubac can be exposed away from the basket.
