Trying to be unbiased after they've won a ring, but he's no longer a luxury of a 9M cap hold let alone competing for the team's 3rd best player. He could be for someone else, especially a small market team that needs a scoring punch and would match a descent RFA offer in a year.
They'll likely shop him, but it only takes one team to see him as a player they can fix to be a solid 3rd scorer and more. We're going to hear Green/Kuz/1st until they're on the clock and have to select a player (and keep them), who knows if it happens. |

Kuz had his ups and downs this year but he still contributed and he's a champion. He deserves it. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Get over it, and start watching both sides of the ball.
Dude is a champion as a rotation player for a reason. |
Yeah, outside of him allowing Porter to shake him up and a couple down games he was good to sometimes even great defensively since the bubble started. His offense was much more up and down but for his first Playoff's he wasn't awful at all and absolutely was a big part of the team overall. I'm cool with moving him in a package for a clear upgrade but if no offer like that is available I still feel he's absolutely worth keeping especially with him able to do spot duty for any games AD or Lebron misses during the long regular season. |

Get out of here with that.
1 - he was a role player on this team.
2 - he was a rotational player all through the season and in every series.
3 - he is a CHAMPION. |

Summer League champ now NBA champ, Kuz putting together a nice NBA resume.
I'll keep it positive tonight and just focus on it being nice to have one of the young guys we latched on to winning a ring as a Laker.
He may not be what we expected after his rookie season (well, maybe he is to some), but he was an every-night rotation player on a title team who had some good playoff moments. Can't take that away from him.
Congrats, Kuz. |

Stay in the gym and the film room Kuz. Slow down a beat and work on your balance and footwork. |

Props to Kuz, he was probably the only player on the team who never seemed to find a full comfort level with the role he was supposed to play, but he still managed to be a significant contributor and obviously worked hard at shoring up his defensive shortcomings. Pretty cool he gets to be a champion early in his career. |

I’m glad people now see Kuz for what he is, happy to say I told you so! Luckily for him he has a championship ring. It’s something no one can take from him, kudos. _________________ #mamba4ever! |

If I'm the Lakers, I'm looking to package him this summer. And if I'm Kuzma I may be welcoming it.
This summer will be the most important of his career. I do think he made some progress on defense this season. He also improved some as a passer. But despite some encouraging rebounding numbers at points, he remains a poor rebounder. He remains a below average shooter.
To date he has far exceeded his contract cost. But that will change in the coming years with that cost growing. Right now he's an inconsistent scorer off the bench. I know he sees himself as more of that. But he's going to need to make a choice to either embrace a career as a role player and make peace with that, or he's going to work on his game harder than he ever has before. |

He's a talented young player but he thinks as well as a scarecrow. His margin for error was not low because he played with LeBron and Anthony. Let's see if the Lakers can get something for him as part of a package deal. |

Anybody saying Kuz sucks didn't see the absolute stellar defense he played all playoff. He was easily...EASILY the best defender on Butler. He's made such big strides in his game, especially on defense he has been absolute stellar.
Im extremely proud of him and hope he stays.

I’m surprised to say my favorite thing about Kuz this playoff run was his defense. His shot is inconsistent, but I still like his potential. |

He should’ve won finals MVP. The Lakers better give him a max contract. This kid is going to rule the league for a very long time. Long live, Kyle GOAT Kuzma! |

I like Kuz for the value he brings at his $$ number today. Not sure what he'd be willing to accept to stay on. At $4-5m per, I think he'd still be great value, above that you can probably easily replace him on the open market with ring-chasers, high upside projects, etc. |

Kuz made more important strides on defense this year. I think he has now graduated to a good wing defender. His offense is ok and has a fit i to the offense, so for his price he’s a good keep. Remember that we still have the Clips and how bad we needed another wing defender besides Green to stay with Kawhi and PG.
Just let him grow with this team and he’ll be better next year. _________________ Darvin |

Kuz was not good offensively in the playoffs.
Kuz was average defensively in the playoffs and still had his moments of ball watching/not boxing out.
Kuz' primary value to the Lakers was his contract. During the regular season, you could stick him out there against most teams and he'd hold his own (at under $2 million). As we played better opposition, Kuz' value decreased.
If you can get a better piece/better fit, trade Kuz. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

He ended up being the team's 4th leading scorer in the playoffs just .7 points behind KCP. And that was with only 23 min per game. He can score when given the opportunity and minutes. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.
