We need to trade him and get value from him when we can. We need to move on from him. I appreciate all he has done for us, but it's time to check his worth and get what we can for him that'll benefit our team.
I hope you are talking about KCP
If someone needs to be traded it should be Matthews and KCP. Those two should not be starting. I would start Caruso before those two.

No they don’t. The Sac game proves that Lebron ball (dribbling 12-18 seconds while everyone gets out of the way) doesn’t work for Kuzma and others. It’s also the reason there’s no team balance and the offense is stagnant. If given a role in the offense, Kuzma is capable and legit, and Horry just said the exact same thing on Spectrum. You’re not going to get better by trading Kuzma. He will only go somewhere else and show why he shouldn’t have been traded.

Lebron ball worked for Cavs, Heat (multiple times) and Lakers last season.
He gets his, but he dribbles until he sees who he wants to give it to. Now that he can no longer beat most guys to the rim, it often leads to:
1 Him putting up a tough shot
2 A teammate (usually Kuzma) taking a percentage busting shot
3 A turnover
4 His teammates standing around and watching.
Early in the game I saw Morris and KCP successfully creating and finishing opportunities that they’d never have with Lebron on the floor.
If the offense remains as stagnant as it has been before tonight, you won’t be saying that Lebron brought them a championship after this season.

Exactly. Why cant folks, especially Lakers fans, understand that?
We watched Kuz be an effective offensive option for his rookie and sophmore. He and Bron even showed impressive chemistry at times his sophmore year. But when AD arrived it seemed like Bron, and by extension the entire Lakers offense, made a decision to stop featuring Kuzma on offense in meaningful ways that exploited his talents. And I get it, they got AD.
But Kuz has taken that in stride and focused in improving his defense and rebounding. Both have markedly improved to the point it would be ridiculous to trade Kuz for anything less than a fringe allstars or in a package for a bona-fide 3rd star. His improvements on defense and rebounding coupled with our lack of significant trade pieces make him too valuable to give away for anything other than a long term, game changing piece.

I guess it’s cool to propose trades. Of course, nobody ever comes up with legitimate game changing, sensible ideas. Who is this mysterious, fantastic, long term piece who will come and make this the top team that they should be?

. What games are you watching? Kuz has been one of our best players on the roster. Why would you say this after he put up 25/10 on good shooting % and good defense.

I quoted that post after the previous game. Actually he had 12 rebounds.
I think PG13 is a more fluid athlete, which is why he can lock down 1-3 easily. Kuz is a big man (Utah days as a PF) who through hard work, is converted to a big wing player. I don't think PG13 is a good comp for him.
Best case would be something like Danny Granger. A very nice player. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
He had a good first half of the season. 9 double-doubles. Career-high in rebounding so far 6.7 per game. 3 point % back up to rookie-level 36.5%. Also, blocked shots are up. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

Oh my bad. Still though hes had an impressive season so far, so not sure why we would trade him.

Only Kuzma trade acceptable at this point is for a 3rd star (with Deng's $5 mil is a $22m player ish), trading for another role player wouldn't get you a better player
Kuzma is the whipping boy for those Lakers fans who do not know basketball.
But he should not be traded for Tucker. In a year you will be sorry,
The biggest problem the Lakers have is Lebron getting old and holding
on to the ball too long.
Lebron has to adjust his game to learn to work in a ball movement and
player movement offense.
When this happens the Lakers will be there.
KCP and Wes will come around. Wes is getting old but he can bring it at times.
KCP is streaky but come finals time is when he streaks.

Start Kuzma at 2 guard
Bench KCP and Wes
Kuzma can do more than Danny Green
He is rebounding better than Paul George
He is the #1 offensive rebounding 2/3 in the league
Had 4 offensive rebounds yesterday
I'm a huge Kuz supporter but IMO his quickness advantages he has the other spots is taken away when he plays the 2. I don't think he's that great at the 2 at all. _________________ Formerly OC Lakerfan

What he lacks in quickness he makes up for in height. That will show itself on the offensive boards (where he will dominate most 2s) and shooting over a closing defenders (where most 2s will not be able to contest his shot). He'll have to work a bit harder to move his feet on defense to avoid fouls and not give up easy looks, but he's the best option currently on the roster in my opinion.

You don’t need to avoid screens and chase quick guards
You switch like Draymond Green or Magic Johnson
Look you have
AD
Bron
Damion Jones/ Trez
Kuz
Schroeder
Four of those guys can switch on anyone
Schroeder you send to the corner shooter just like Draymond scrams in and sends Steph Curry to the corner
If you don’t have shot blockers you can’t play drop coverage
Got to go big in the backcourt and switch or zone up
Yes and no
Switching has it's benefits, but can create easy passing lanes for the PnR roller or if the ball handler simply steps back when the screen comes and the chaser switches.

Kuzma played Point Guard his whole life
He is a natural scoring two guard
Larry Krystoviak at Utah forced him to play power forward
Kuzma’s conditioning and speed way better than 3 years ago
He is quick enough to play two guard
Not any worse than Danny Green with a bad hip or Achilles
According to Kuzma, those perimeter skills shouldn’t be a surprise, because he’s been playing there a lot longer than people who had only watched him play in college might have thought, via Mike Trudell of Lakers.com:
“Utah helped me a lot. In high school, I was a point guard. I wasn’t 6’9″ at the time; I hadn’t hit a growth spurt. In prep school I played the 2 or 3 mostly, but I was almost always a guard. Once I got to Utah, I played the 4 and the 5. It completed my game in a sense. I already had a lot of guard stuff, but when I got there, I learned how to be a 4 and play like a big. And I wasn’t really a good defender my first two years of college, but eventually got better at that too.”
