In the interest of accuracy, his dad IS black today as well....

Yes! No one seems to call him out for it right now, but he was pretty much hogging every possession in the 4th.

For a couple of months, Luke has been talking about how Kuzma stalls the offense and doesn't play defense. I get the impression Luke isn't as enthralled with him as fans -- Luke's take seems to be: "He's doing well for a rookie, but he has a lot to learn and a lot of areas he needs to improve in."

Luke is not fond of admitting his own mistakes. JC, Randle and Kuz are his favorite scapegoats. He always praises very little thing Nance does while criticizing every little mistake a rookie Kuz does. He's doing everything he can to defend his decision of starting Nance. He still doesn't want to admit that Nance doesn't fit the starting lineup right now.

Luke likes players that remind him of himself: White, injury prone, and relevant cause of their last name. Although unlike Luke, Nance is actually decent. But like Luke, he’s not a starter type, and never will be. That’s not his game or his best fit on this team.

white? Bogut, Zubac and Caruso? Have not noticed any of those guys getting any extra love from Luke.

According to Megaton, bi-racial = white. So don't forget about Lonzo, Kuzma, Ennis, Lopez, and Hart.

He did his thing. He scores Better than the entire team. If you’re going to blame him, everyone else deserves blame too. I’d rather have Kuz shooting than anyone else.

There are games that Kuzma is a 6’10 clarkson and other games where he is amazing in the flow of offense. He’s a rookie will figure it out

The way I see it, I don't care if he starts or comes off the bench as long as he closes and is playing more minutes than Nance.

I like Nance but he is just too one dimensional to deserve big minutes. His minutes should go to Kuzma.

In terms of production I'd definitely have to go with Kuzma and Randle over Nance.

Regarding Kuzma being like Clarkson sometimes, Kuzma was never a ball pounder and he usually is very efficient on offense. I feel he actually deserves more shots. If he got more shots he'd probably shoot more consistently from outside because he'd have his rhythm....like he did in the summer league. It's hard to make outside shots consistently if you don't get many attempts.

But I'm cool with Clarkson now, he seems to have turned the corner and has become an efficient scorer....and no more ball pounding!

Best pure shooter on the team. He could become a very good second or third option on a championship caliber team.

Kuz only averaging 12 shots per game is a sin.

Someone who shoots 50% from the field and 37% from three should be taking between 15-20 shots!

He tends to be passive in the 1st half and doesn't start really looking for his shot until the 2nd half, especially 4th quarter.

Shoot more Kuz! Shoot MORE!

He has to let it fly. I'll take my chances with a guy who's shooting 50% from the field on the season. I don't believe he shoots it enough.

Some of us believe more in team play than others it seems.

IMO it is kinda hard to come down on Kuz for shooting it when he sees what KCP is allowed to do out there.

At least he was able to see that the 4 TOs were unforced, that is a good step in correcting things.

Nice middle school response. Drag down others to make your point. No big deal, you have been wrong about Randle from the start. More of the same.

There is much irony here...

You're not wrong about Julius though.

Kuz is playing 30 MPG in a crowded front court rotation (as a sub, still 26 MPG) as a rookie. Compared to the others, he has almost zero argument for more minutes. Luke has treated him just fine.

Quote:
PASSING

1) Lonzo Ball
- passes made: 64.4
- assists per game: 7.2
- secondary assists 0.6
- potential assists 13.6

2) Kyle Kuzma
- passes made: 35.3
- assists per game: 1.5
- secondary assists 0.2
- potential assists 3.8

3) Larry Nance Jr.
- passes made: 33.3
- assists per game: 1.2
- secondary assists 0.2
- potential assists 2.5

4) Julius Randle
- passes made: 30.6
- assists per game: 1.9
- secondary assists 0.2
- potential assists 3.4

5) Brandon Ingram
- passes made: 30.1
- assists per game: 3.1
- secondary assists 0.4
- potential assists 6.7

6) Jordan Clarkson
- passes made: 28.4
- assists per game: 3.0
- secondary assists 0.4
- potential assists 5.9

7) Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
- passes made: 28.2
- assists per game: 2.3
- secondary assists 0.2
- potential assists 5.0

8) Brook Lopez
- passes made: 23.2
- assists per game: 1.7
- secondary assists 0.1
- potential assists 2.9

So those saying Kuzma don't pass, well he's only 2nd behind Lonzo in passing. He's even passing more than Ingram, Clarkson, KCP despite shooting better than them on the floor.

Kuz needs to shoot more! Shoot more!!!

Right, because pointing out weaknesses means you don’t like a player. I guess the idea that guys can improve and get better is pure hate. I guess I’ve hated every player I have coached because I tried to make them better.

It's literally in every Kuz related thread that you point this out. That points to a bias against him. I don't see this kind of concerted criticism elsewhere. Didn't see it with Moz or Deng either.

Nance and Lonzo are 9th and 10th in usage but 1st and 3rd in passes. When you look at what you posted and put it in to context it proves we have a bunch of ball stoppers, not that Kuz isn’t one. He may need to shoot more but they need to be different shots. Randle, Clarkson are more of ball stoppers than him but it’s hard not to be. Lopez and KCP are often given the ball in positions to score or not at all. Ingram is the best on the team at creating his own shot and by a wide margin so his lack of passing is expected.

As I said earlier, Kuzma may need to shoot more but they need to be better shots. His shot selection often includes shots he shouldn’t take and shots he should’ve but didn’t. None of them means he hasn’t been a ball stopper throughout the year.
