They should just pay the college players. These rules are ridiculous and the NCAA makes $millions off of these guys.

NBA/NFL make a minor league program and be done with the (bleep) college sports factory

Doesn't the money profited benefit other sports that don't make any money at all? Where does all the money go to?

Constantly rising tuitions should be paying for some things as well.
People act like the non profitable sports are extremely expensive once the facilities are already built.
They really aren't.

Ok but without the ncaa, there is likely no draft attendance. Though i guess its possible to go the route of Lamelo and Liangelo

Dont agree the college kids should get paid. They do get paid when they get in to the big leagues

If they aren’t good enough to see the big leagues, why should they be paid?

But more importantly, what is the value of playing in the NCAA? Probably wrong thread, but, NCAA creates opportunities to generate the money so in a way they are being compensated by playing on a platform that allows one to make millions. You can play in a rec league too, but it doesnt offer that.

NCAA is making millions... because of them.

And they are making millions because of ncaa. I’m just saying there is a value to playing in the ncaa. What that is, is debatable.

But if no value then why dont they just play in a rec league?

Kuzma is named in this article. Is it possible this is weighing on him and affecting his play? Or maybe he doesn't give a rat's you-know-what.

His play has been pretty bad for two months. It's hard to believe that was in expectation of something like this coming out.

Because their work is generating a huge amount of revenue that they are not sharing in a meaningful way.

I can't believe anyone could really defend the hypocrisy of the NCAA, which is a huge money-making operation in the guise of being a scholarship program. It's the "Miss America" program without the swimsuit competition.

I don't blame athletes for taking money on the side, if they can get away with it. The NCAA is an icky outfit.

I suppose if you're one of the people getting rich off these kids then you will think it's an "opportunity". I personally think they are just plain being exploited because they feel they have no better choice.

College basketball is a joke. They're a bunch of crooks. Let them play for money like they do in soccer and bball around the world.

50 games is a good sample size , summer, preseason, earlier reg season.

Rookies are streaky

I don't know how anyone can guess. As someone said, rookies are streaky. We want to think the first 28 games where he played well is the norm and the last 29 games where he played poorly is the aberration. But who knows? The truth might be in the middle -- he might end up being an OK, but nothing special rotation player.

Looks to me like Kuz has hit the wall and the minutes and nagging injuries have caught up with him, the pop that was there in the first half of the season isn't there anymore.

The fact he is still producing is impressive, he's a disciple of the mamba. Don't question him.

Biggest reason why players should be allowed to at least have jobs within the sporting industry is because EVERY OTHER STUDENT has that option. I majored in geology in college. Half the students had jobs in the industry before they graduated. Every programmer I knew had either an internship or a real job while they attended classes.

Why the hell can't athletes work for Footlocker, Nike, Asics, etc. ?????

All this crap is on the NCAA. They have set up a system that is plain arse stupid.

Totally, even the very best are a little streaky at the beginning.

The guys that strike me as the most stable in their rookie years are Magic, Lebron and perhaps Kareem.
