Id say so, he's a good guy off the bench and he can sub 4 and 5. We're a bit top heavy in the frontcourt with Lopez, Kuz, Randle, Ingram and Nance. I've always held out hope that Ingram could move to the 2 spot. It would make things easier.

Agreed.. would love if Ingram got more run at the 2.. Kuz can eat anywhere from 2,3, or 4.

A core of Kuz, and Ingram means we'll have a great deal of versatility. Eventually Ingram might even be able to play some 4.

I wasn’t a Kuz believer until recently! He just has “it” it’s amazing. Watching Ingram and Kuz play has been a joy this season, hopefully Lonzo could turn it around.

Outside of his scoring abilities which are obviously for real, what's your take guys about other aspects of the game ? Passing abilities, team play, creating for others, individual defense, team defense... ? Will he just be a scoring threat from the bench are can he be a bigger part for a contender ?

Yep. It's not even just his skills, he is freaking fearless. The kobe dinner comfirmed that for me. He doesn't give a damn what anybody thinks and is going out there with the goal of dominating his opponents and nothing else. We have heard tidbits about his work ethic, his hunger for learning etc.. All the signs are there.

He’s a guy I want in a game 7. Fearless. Doesn’t care about his image or rep. Just gets at it.

Just another case in point that footwork is one of the most important skills to have in basketball.

Embiid can do what he does because he has ridiculous footwork for somebody that big.

Kuz just has natural feel because of that footwork. The touch doesn't hurt either.

He seems to hit big 3s in the clutch, even if hes not shooting well in the game. He really has no fear.

Even though Kuzma/Randle has been a very good pairing off the bench, I just don't think you can pull Kuzma out of the starting lineup at this point. He's played too well. Him starting though does probably assure that either Nance or Randle is going to be playing very short minutes, and either Nance, Randle or Bogut will be completely out of the rotation most likely unless Luke finds Kuzma some minutes at small forward, which he has been reluctant to.

I don't disagree with you guys but I'll believe it when I see it. You know how Luke is about his precious second unit.

If Nance hadn't gotten hurt and remained healthy all year, do you think Luke wouldn't never have started Kuzma at all?

You know, hard to say I think. I think that Kuzma playing well right now didn't come out of nowhere. He was probably playing well in practice behind the scenes and maybe eventually Luke would have seen the value of starting Kuzma instead of Nance.

Kuzma is playing as well as he showed starting from Summer league. The guy is a bonafide NBA starting level player. Right now. He's gonna have a really solid career, I don't think any of this is "flash in the pan", this is the player he is and will likely only improve upon his current level.

I think this just makes trading Julius much easier TBH. Nance is a favorite of the staff FO and Julius has been on an extremely short leash all year. I struggle to believe Julius is with the team past ASB. Cue MJST.

Not unless we were on a big losing streak. Luke can be really stubborn with his rotations.

He's got the Mamba mentality. You can tell just by how polished he is. His footwork for example, the variety of ways that he can score, his moves..and he"ll likely be adding moves as well.

Sure a lot of that is talent but a lot of is has to be work too. Great approach to the game. You dont get that skilled at that age without the Mamba mentality.

Kuzma is playing well, but has it improved the team? Our Offensive and Defensive Ratings are similar to when Nance was starting. I think maybe the only thing that has happened is Kuzma's offense has been moved from "bench production" to "starter production"....and I am not sure Nance will be as effective with the second unit when he returns. I think there is still a chance we are a better team with Nance starting and Kuzma coming off the bench and closing.

Or having Nance is better than not having Nance on a talent deficient team.

17 pts on 7-11. 3-4 on threes. Only 3 boards though. Zo took his boards.

I liked the idea behind his first quarter benching actually. Luke's talking about him being a great playmaker postgame too and I totally agree.

He scored 28 in a half after going 0-6 the first half last game. He's a scorer and he will naturally find his opportunities.
