Cuz Kuzma knows how to get himself open. A great trait to have.
how so?
That's his highlights from yesterday, and in one game you can see that he has a knack for:
1) staying in a pocket/3 point line, ready to receive the ball
(look at that had raise )
2) cutting and making himself available for a pass
yeah...I'm not seeing Kuz running off screens getting himself open
In the flow of the game he is often the recipient of the pass from those cutting to the basket and the whole team is good with transition offense
Luke post game on Kuzma making that clutch free throw:
Quote:
”We we’re still figuring out (who should take the free throw), so Kuz walked to the line with confidence. If you’re going to walk to the line with confidence, you better make it, and he made it. He walked out there with confidence so I wasn’t going to kick him off. He knocked it down.”

Or are you talking about offballs situations only?

He is pretty much the only one that cuts on a regular basis.
This. Last season he was taking 41% of his shots within 10ft of the rim. This season he's up to 52% and taking fewer pull up shots. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant

I like this a lot from him. Honestly just get close to average efficiency on those 3s and he'll be at 20ppg or perhaps more, I feel close to confident about that _________________ Austin Reaves

Ah, the timestamp wasn't on my link:
yeah...I don't see him doing anything different in the flow of the o than anyone else...sorry

What? You can’t see it in game?
I’m a season ticket holder and been to a bunch of games. He’s slashing in and getting a ton of passes from Lebron. He didn’t get those passes last year

yes...cuts to the basket etc...running through screens no
Kuz is one of those guys who’s perceived value around the league seems to be a lot greater than what he actually provides. Hopefully Maginka understand this and trade him for a legitimate 3nD player before the hype runs out. I’m pretty sure if you give Beasley those minutes, he would put up similar numbers to Kuz, you can find those one dimensional players on minimum and/or exception deals. I don’t dislike Kuz, he’s a nice player on a cheap contract, but they should seriously look to trade him next offseason.

He'd be far and away our second best offensive option if he bothered to read what's going on in front of him. I never dump on any of our young guys but I actually hate the way he plays basketball.
Kuzma getting the short end of it here.
We often talk about each players margin for error, seems to me that Kuzma has none.
He was playing subpar. We are comfortably ahead, Lebron was controlling the game. Kuz has the penchant in taking ill advise shots so I think keeping Hart in there was a good decision by Luke.

Me too. And I think it is not basketball what Magic and Luke are thinking. I have feeling that every time he receive the ball his look is immediately on the basket. You cant play on high level like that.
Also his D is possibly the worst in entire team.

And Ingram's shots are completely scripted?
You're right overall I submit. Its just unfair how BI and Zo(though these days less and less) can get away with canning it and still play 30+ mins but the moment Kuz has a crappy game, the bench becomes him.
Hope he learns from this though. A benching every now and then is a necessary lesson.

That's really the only problem I have with him. I don't generally like players in the mold of Crawford, Lue Will, and Clarkson. Read the floor.. I'm not as worried about his defense even though it's not good. He showed last season that he can improve gradually in that area.
If he doesn't start reading the floor he will easily become my least favorite player on the squad. Hate those kind of players.

Would you like to get specific.. Cause I only say positive things about Kuz. Is it not a fact that he doesn't read the floor? I even speak positively of Kuz in the Ingram thread.
