the absolute minimum personal goal/accomplishment this season for Hart is for him to be in the Rising Stars Challenge this year during all star break. Hopefully he joins Kuzma and Ball on the sophomore team....and Svi or Wagner can be included on the rookie team. Lebron will be in the All Star game....get a guy in the 3 point contest, and that will be a ton of team representation.
back to the point, I think that even if he is not starting, but getting good minutes, it is a very reachable goal for him this season. |

I think Hart has spectacular opportunity to shine right away as one of the main eight Lakers this year. Plays smart, moves well, shoots deep well, drives and passes well. He's an ideal complement to LeBron size-wise too.
If Lonzo's knee continues to delay a return to the court, it's good for Hart's window of opportunity and maybe, for the team's future as well. |

Hart looked great in the new Laker Jersey on media day. There was a conversation a while back about who Hart reminds you of. He looks a lot like Byron Scott in that jersey! Like Byron, he is a 6-5ish shooting guard that is built like a rock. Also, outside shooting and defense appear to be his strengths, two areas where Byron excelled at. Though he is a tougher defender but not as gifted athletically like Byron. Nonetheless he is just reminding me of BScott in that Jersey. |

I think he's right when he says he's not a 3 and D guy. Cuz he has no D... yet. |

Dude was getting burned by summer league guys, so I'm pretty low on his defense currently. |

Yep.
I think him switching to bigs in the low post has warped our view of his lack of perimeter defense. |

Hart's interior defense is legit and Denver was raining 3's on everybody. That'll happen when we're in the first preseason game, still experimenting on rotations, defensively as well as on offense. |

Haha. How is it a hot take when his defense was bad last year? |

Just read that Josh is starting tonight and KCP is coming off el bench. That didn’t take long lol (I’m sure they’re just experimenting with different lineups but I still chuckled) |

Very interesting move, if it makes Hart into a better player and makes KCP engaged, I’m all for it... |

His defense wasn't bad last year, it was average. He had a positive DBPM, 109 defensive rating and showed he was a capable switcher. His DRPM was 36% among SGs which isn't great but definitely isn't terrible. Many times last year he took the challenge of guarding the best perimeter player on the opposing team which I respected. |

On the surface, maybe it's some temporary preseason lineup tinkering, but I feel like this will end up being one of those permanent, David Lee for Draymond-type moves. I think Josh is going to do so well as a starter next to Lebron that he doesn't give Luke a chance to bench him again. It's our best long-term play anyway to start building chemistry with our core beyond this season, and at worst it's a push for this season.
I was actually for the KCP signing and liked what he did for us last year, too, but there are some players who are just wired to play in the bright lights on a contending team next to a great like Lebron. Hart is one of those players. KCP...not so much. |

I guess we when someone says 3 and D I expect more than average defense. But I mean, he was 63rd out of 98 shooting guards on DRPM. So I guess he wasn't terrible. You got me on that one. |

Hart needs to be our starter, appears to be a much better player so far. Kind of sucks that aKcp and Lebron share the same agent, we may be forced to start KCP as a result |

I think Hart should be the starter as well.
But I hope he cuts down the complaining to the refs. Saw a lot of it in preseason and hope it doesn't carry over. |

So far in two preseason games, KCP is 1-8 from the three and Hart is 3-10. |

Are you worried? This isn’t a good sign to me. These are supposed to be 2 of our best shooters. |
