Why couldn’t we pay him? Half the young core will be gone next summer anyways.

The only way we couldn’t pay him is if the team goes cheap.

When are we playing the Clips. They better not match Hart up with Lou Will. Dude might score 81 just from FTs on three point shot attempts.

He'll get the equivalent of whatever is Garry Harris Jr. money in 2022.

I hope because he is my favorite Laker at the moment. Everything what Laker player should be. IMO he is like D Fish from our previous championship teams.

Impressive feat by second-year guard Josh Hart. He's had at least one steal in 16 straight games dating back to last season. This is the longest active streak in the #NBA , according to #Lakers PR

Or if the FO is trying to preserve cap space for a max free agnet. That is the off-season where LeBron can opt out. We might have just paid Ingram the previous year and Lonzo will be due for an extension as well. Who knows what things will look like then.

The Lakers remind me of the guy at the bar waiting to pick up the next hot woman night after night. I hate the FA plan. Not a comment on you or your post, just reminds me of this pathetic strategy.

Can't let Hart fall to page 2. I'm curious to see where he ranks in RPM when it's released.

"In spite" of Luke's decisions as opposed to "because of" Luke's decisions.

Which is a theme we've dealt with a lot these past few years.

Just because we're winning doesn't mean Luke couldn't make better adjustments and make it easier on the team as a whole to produce.

But only in Luke's mind would go go "nah we won't make Kuzma backup 4 and Josh Hart the starting 2 that's silly... let's make Ingram the starting 2 and Hart the backup 4."

....

We have no other starting 4. I wish that Kuzma was coming off the bench but there isn’t any other option.

Hart has been playing well,, so far, as our backup 4. He's a lunch pal type of player, and is willing to do whatever needs to be done to win. That said, I do hope that he's moved back to a wing position, and we can get a solid PF to take over that spot. Either Beez, if he ever gets the chance, and he's able to acclimate himself to the team. Or, perhaps a pickup during the season.

The problem with that, is that either KCP, or Lance, would be on the ouside, looking in, once Rondo gets healthy. And, if the FO had to choose between the two, they'd play KCP, because of his connections to Klutch/LeBron. The only way to get out of that type of conundrum, is to trade KCP (if he agrees) to a place where he can get more quality minutes, while getting something of value in return.

LeBron James if Luke wanted us to have a defensive lineup to start games.

Lonzo Ball
Josh Hart
Brandon Ingram
LeBron James
JaVale McGee

that would essentially be the ideal scenario. But Luke is in no rush to do that. If LeBron is made to play the 4 and he doesn't want to, then if that lineup loses, eyes go on Luke, if that lineup wins and is better on both ends of the court, LeBron can't complain or he looks bad.

But Luke doesn't want to seem to take that chance.

I don’t get it. We have Kyle Kuzma who is a 4, but we start him and move Ingram to the 2. Mean while, we have Hart who is a 2 but he’s playing the 4 because we don’t have a back up 4???

Lonzo/Hart/Ingram/Lebron/McGee is going to end up being the lineup one way or another at some point in this season, what are we waiting for.

Kuzma’s game literally speaks “6th man” role. Meanwhile Hart is the perfect 3 and D next to Lebron even with acknowledging today’s game.
