It's the hustle Bryant brings that is separating him from the pack. That along with his height and wingspan are very crucial factors.
Also I'm noticing defenses sagging off him. He IS a three point shooter, or at least has shown the capability of hitting threes. I'd hope Luke would encourage him to shoot those when another center isn't giving him any respect. Cause he's WIDE OPEN most of the time at the top of the key. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

I mean in terms of how Nance has been performing at the 5 in comparison. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Yeah, he and Larry would look like blocking dummies against Chris Paul.
But I think he can develop into Mo Speights with some rim protection, which is a damn fine backup big to have. |
yup, that's exactly the comp I had in mind w/added rim protection |

After watching his dance moves after the Lakers won the Summer League, I'm thinking Madsen could help this kid.... _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.” |

Yup. I noticed this too. That will have to improve significantly before Byrant can be a serious rotation player for us. However, after seeing the improvement in Zubac's defense in the preseason, I think Bryant will get there eventually. |

Bryant is a raw talent but the skills are there if properly developed. He is a work in progress and it's definitely going to take time for him (G-League & NBA) to develop.
I'm sure Joey Buss has a plan in place for Bryant's development in the G-League. In a few years he could become a solid contributor. |

we have tons of trade chips, just saying |
Nance, JC, KCP & Lopez can be fairly valued and will be attractive in trades.
We may have to deal with the reality that there will not be superior talent available to us for 2 max slots which requires a change in strategy. I think we will know soon.
Look to Pelicans and OKC to see whether Cousins or PG13 will become available if those teams don't perform as expected. |

And he uses that hustle wisely by keeping himself in motion when off-ball on offense. Which is something that all the system players the FO brought in will benefit the team down the road. But BI, JC & JR would do themselves well to pick up a little of that. _________________ We back. |

He was coached well at IU. One of the good ones who bought into Crean's program. _________________ Not a legend |

Great point. Character is something that either gets over or under emphasized when we talk prospects but that's a key ingredient when combining it in the talent evaluation especially with players with tools like TB. _________________ We back. |

The Lakers have recalled rookie center Thomas Bryant from South Bay. |
I have a feeling TB will be going back and forth on a regular basis. |

Was just about to see if there was an update on him...I think we could really use his defense and shooting. |

Thomas Bryant was a beast tonight in the SB Lakers win:
18 pts (7/8), 8 reb, 2 blk & 2 3's in 19 minutes |

That's a misconception. He's brings a lot of energy with his game. In fact I'd go so far as to say he moves too quick at times. What he needs to work on is control but that's a maturity thing. _________________ Not a legend |

Love his activity.
Just needs to get adjusted to the NBA and the players in the league. If he can be consistent with the 3 ball, watch out. |

Give him the Myles Turner treatment (re: his gait) and he’ll be a player. Not confident that happens though.. |

No, it’s not.
He can get north/south quickly enough, but he has absolutely no lateral agility and no ability to change direction quickly. He really needs to fix his gait before he has a future in the NBA. He continually got exposed on help defense and switches all of Summer league (and in college).
That said, he can shoot, he hustles, he has NBA strength, good defensive instincts, and he has ridiculous length. So if he can get it fixed he can definitely be a really solid player. It’s just that the way he moves is such a limiting factor right now. |

Yes he can, potential stretch 5 ability and has a strong inside game.
However he needs a lot of grooming but the talent is there. |

He also has those long arms and nasty temperament (in a good way). We really need to know what we have in him and Zu. |
