He should be embarrassed by his play on both ends.

Made Baynes look like Cousins.

How are you that big and wide and can't grab rebounds?

If this continues the bright spot is that he’s a goner after this season, since we probably value Cousins more then Lopez.

Games like this one against Boston show you why Brook may be retainable for the room exception if we indicate a bigger payday the following year.In an 82 game season there are going to be nights and matchups where he's giving you star level production. But once the chess match starts against the better teams, his inability to guard the perimeter makes it hard for him to stay on the floor. Golden St. is basically showing teams how much of your cap you invest in that role.

Just on brand recognition he probably sees MLE offers ($9M) for two years, maybe a partial guarantee for a third year. If LA offers a 1+1 room exception ($5M) that isn't an indefensible scenario.

For the Lakers this would come about as a function of landing 2Max and Brook would be the best option for the exception for both talent and continuity.

Just to be clear, the Lakers should have absolutely no intentions of extending Lopez beyond this season.

If Luke isn't going to use him right, we should trade him.

Lopez woulda been a much better option than 6’9 Randle who doesn’t have the size to guard him and he can’t shoot so Joel just sagged off him

Luke chose the faster, smaller defender in Randle over big, slow Brook. Lose, lose situation against a talent like Embiid.

Kuzma throwing shade at Brook, lmao.

Quote:
Kuzma on Lonzo again today: "Media & everybody in the country wants him to be a hall of famer right now, an All-Star right now, but he’s still a rookie, its tough to play at this level for anybody. There’s 10 year vets that play way worse than he does & nobody talks about it."

I know it's nothing, but it's funnier to imagine him talking about Lopez here.

Lakers are 4-0 when he hits at least 2 3pts.
They're 2-9 when he doesn't.

We shouldn't have give that minutes to Lopez. He was slow, hesitated and couldn't defend.

I wonder what the Lakers could get for Lopez right now. Maybe OKC could use him. It is just so annoying that he is so big, and has the footwork to dominate inside, but chooses to shoot the long ball.

I don’t see him shooting the long ball as a problem, I just think that his best seasons are behind him.

So room exception seems about right? Heh.

But I don’t worry about him getting a huge long term deal elsewhere. Maybe at most 10-12m a year.

Just don't want him on the team. Hope bogut is training zu/Bryant well enough that we don't need this guy's soft ass

I'm more impressed with his defense than his offense.

I would say going to another team seems right. Use the room on a shooter.
