Male or female. Do you carry a bag? Purse. Murse. Manbag. Backpack. Whatever you want to call it.
I have found it very convenient. Been carrying one since 2008. I don't like things in my pockets, especially if I have various keys, and wallet, and cell phone, and sunglasses, and.... _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

Daily? Nothing. I can respond to all of my emails from my phone.
Occasionally, I'll use a messenger/briefcase style bag to bring my laptop home if I need to do more involved work like a presentation. |

I carry a backpack to work with my laptop and other supplies. My phone, keys, wallet, chapstick, contacts drops, knife all in my pocket. |

As a backpack guy myself and seeing the messenger bag replies, I wonder why someone would choose one over the other?
Personally I find a backpack more mobile when in the city and moving around on the trains and what not. Messenger bags always seemed a bit awkward to me, can't pull off my hoodie and pop in into a messenger bag or it looks like I'm hauling a bowling ball.
And hey! Welcome to LG rook!! |

That's no rookie . . . it's an old friend who was banned.
Anyway, as to your question, I switched to a messenger bag because it's slimmer and only provides so much space, which means I don't get tempted to overpack. Plus the shape makes it easier to carry documents like scripts without wrinkling them etc. It's also easier to get into if I'm on the move and I can sit down without taking it off. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

I ride motorized two-wheeler vehicles and use public transportation andI work in air-conditioning, overnight security, and food delivery and Uber/yellow taxi. So I carry around a backpack with a coin purse(dislike loose change). Mostly carry electronics, cables, tools etc. _________________ (❍ᴥ❍ʋ) ʕʘᴥʘʔ (⌐ ͡■ ͜ʖ ͡■) (┛◉Д◉)┛( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ |

Sure. I carry a couple hand grenades for personal protection. I used to wear a bandolier, but it's more fun to catch the other guy by surprise. |

I guess I missed the broad sweeping bans handed out by the mods, how I escaped is beyond me but I won't complain.
Makes sense about the messenger bag. I suppose if I were carrying documents my backpack probably wouldn't work too well. I'm also assuming it looks more professional. |

Yesterday I was at Trader Joe's in the express lane and had to wait as the lady before me wrote a check. I didn't think they made those things anymore. Now you're telling me more than one person is still writing checks?

Just purchased a new sling bag so it stays on my back. May get a smaller backpack for work and laptops, but the smaller bag for every day use. _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

I get that some people are still stuck in the past and write checks instead of use debit cards etc. But it is infuriating when they stand there idly until the final tally is rung up and then suddenly decide they need to rummage through their purse to get said checkbook and find a pen then start to fill out out as if they hadn't anticipated they'd have to pay. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

I have a work bag that my computer, lunch, etc... goes in for work.
Other than that, only other times I need a bag are my gym bag and for golf. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

Now that I just graduated from college I think I'm going to switch from backpack to messenger bag, just looks more professional.
Any advice on what to look for in a messenger bag or are they all about the same? |

Brings back memories of the days of trying to find the shortest line at Market Basket or Stater Brothers only to have the person in front off you trying to cash a two party out of state payroll check with no drivers license. Excuse me while I call my manager! |
