He must not have articulated that thought properly. Because carrying on as a non-competitive person isn't a good thing.

If we can sign two rotation perimeter players (Mclemore and Ennis, for just example), I wouldn't allocate him minutes at all. Lonzo is big enough to play the 3 in spurts. You could even try Kuzma there.

What a load of BS. "I worked very hard." Is that why your shooting percentages were down across the board? I can understand the decrease in production but his eFG% declined 7 percentage points. His ft% was even down. Dude straight up took the offseason easy, (bleep) indefensible for a so called consummate professional. _________________ "It was tough," Kobe Bryant said. I agree...plus I think he came off of an injury and was never in shape last year.

I don't like his contract but I think he is much better than he played last season. He struggled out the gate. He never got into a rhythm. He never came off the bench in his career. Playing with young guys. New coach. He can still play.

IDK...Deng can still play. He didn't find consistency last season due to the TANK. He's still very serviceable as a player.
No, he played awful prior to us ever going to the Lakers going into tank mode.
His numbers through October-December (36 games - 27 MPG): 8.2 PPG, 5.8 rebs, 1.5 assists, 0.8 turnovers, 1.1 steals, 0.3 blocks on 39.4/32.7/68.8.
That's rookie level production for a guy who was the 33rd highest paid in the league. His contract was sandwiched in between Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving, and Jimmy Butler. No excuses for that garbage play.

Who's more at fault, him or the people who gave him the contract?
Yeah, I agree with AC. He was awful. I don't think he's capable of playing small forward anymore. Tbh, he was awful at any position. Almost all his jumpers were clanking off the front of the rim. He had no lift on his jumpers and he just looked spent. I'm hoping he can show up in shape and at least be a productive role player.
IMO, they should bench him all year and give the minutes to the young bucks. Dude is washed.

Which party isn't with the Lakers any longer?[/quote]
Well it's Deng's fault for sucking but it's also the FO's fault for expecting him to do anything close to the money we gave him. It's like taking a dump and complaining that it smells
Come on - Deng has been a better player statistically than he was last season. As a Vet who took the $$$ coming into a situation where his playing time was all over the place - this had to be a discouraging place to be last season.
His only value is if Randle or Nance are traded. As a stretch four he's still a viable player. Playing him at three obviously is no longer an option except in weirdo lineups.
