If Chris is chasing a ring he went to the wrong team. Huston won't win the Larry O'Brien anytime soon.

First off, I'd like to agree that the depth charts need to be cleaned up a bit, as far as players actually on the roster, and positioning.

That aside, I believe there are some who are seriously underestimating what the departure of Chris Paul really means, for the Clippers.

With Chris Paul, the Clippers were heavily reliant on his set-up ability, as a point guard, to position the team offensively in half court sets. CP3 brought excellent passing, court vision, and navigated PnR opportunities brilliantly. As the Clippers roster currently stands, it will fall to Blake Griffin to take over the bulk of responsibilities, left vacant from CP3's departure. Despite being a "good" passer for a big man, with "good" court vision, that won't cut it, imo.

To add to that, the Clippers now will have to learn to play an entirely new style of ball. Unless Blake is going to initiate PnR offense from the perimeter, ala CP3, then it seems that the Clippers will have to go to a more high/low post, read and react type of offense, centered around Blake.

Also, do the players they have fit together? I like Patrick Beverly as a defensive guard, with decent spot-up shooting ability. Lou is an offensive firebrand, and Danilo Gallinari is definitely a very solid pickup. But, a lot of these guys are playing together for the first time, so chemistry could play an issue.

Having said all that, the Lakers have their own concerns. Mostly those that usually surround a young team, such as questions about player growth, and such.

How the Clippers downward turn of fortunes (and it is downward), matches up with the Lakers potential upswing...I honestly don't know. But, it'll be exciting to see, and one thing I do know is that the Lakers organization IS moving upward, while the Clippers have stalled, at best. Fallen off, at worst.

Clippers. They still have some very good players to all stars. We have a team full of 1 and 2 year players.

Clippers by a large margin. They even win more if they somehow lose Griffin.

Our team just flat out stinks. We must face the fact, we are one of the worst teams in the NBA. We are one of the teams we used to fleece for young decent players. We are one of the teams everyone laughs at and points to as a reason the NBA should contract.

That team looks like a train wreck to me on paper. I love Lou Williams but wow that's a rough roster.

Lou Williams was our best player last year, he's somewhere in their 4-5th best this year.

Please explain how losing your #1, #2 and #4 scorers (Russel, Williams and Young) is considered an "upswing" when they were replace by an untested rookie (Ball), a better than average Center (Lopez) and a bunch of other draft picks?

Every team improves except Lakers, especially, some think new face and leader Ball will turn Lakers around and the 19 years old Ball can attach to 2 max players are dream

Anyway, we will be bottom in West. Clippers has West.. and will be better than Lakers for as long as West stays with Clippers.

Clippers, if healthy I can see them getting the 6th-7th seed. But judging from their pieces and injury history, it wouldn't surprised me by the end of the season Lou and DJ are what's left of their starters. Gallinari and Griffin are ticking time bombs when it comes to getting hurt.

We lost a lot of scoring. As it looks we are probably a bottom 3 team.

Bulls are for sure worse. Maybe Indiana and probably the Nets depending on signings.

Seeing the team take a step backwards record-wise will kind of suck, but I'll live. I understand the 2018 crap even though I can't stand it. I just hope the front office has realistic expectations about this year.

We will be better than last year;

1. No more tanking and no more experimental lineups.

2. Luke and the young crew have experience playing together. Ingram, Nance and Zubac will be better. I actually expect Deng to play and contribute the whole season also.

3. Ball will make everyone better with his passing. Unlike DLO who was pretty much looking for the easy perimeter shot and occasional half-arsed venture into the lane first. Passing was an afterthought with this guy.

4. Lopez is a 20 ppg center. He's a consistent scorer, and the best we've had since Pau.

5. the only thing that hurts is losing Lou Williams, he provided alot of consistent fire power off the bench, and would've been great with LB. But i expect the FO to get some veteran help that will make up for this, at least partially.

Unfortunately the Clippers will win more games than the Lakers, yet again. The Lakers will continue to suck big time for yet another season.

The Clippers end up with the 6th seed and we end up with the 15th seed in the West.

The Clippers should still be better even without CP3 just due to experience and continuity.

However, the Lakers future is much brighter in my eyes. The Clippers have taken over as the LA team mortgaging their future away.
