This was interesting: over on CBS sports, they are reporting the Vegas line for next season as follows:

Lakers 36.5 wins

Clipper: 34.5 wins

That must be a misprint, the Clippers were at 44.5 wins

Nope, they show the Vegas line and the CBS Sports estimate (which was at 44.5 wins, as you said).

That's the easiest under bet I have seen in a long time.

Right on, get your money in asap, Lakers lost their #1, #2 and #4 scorers and replaced them with only Lopez...

Interesting. Maybe Vegas thinks Lakers could pick up someone before the trade deadline.

I would rather that they have an ordinary team that is playing with pain and suffering and win games this year than a year of feel goodery and moral victories. We don't have the pick next year.

Almost 30% of the members of Lakers Ground have hope next season in our team. Good Grief!

They play with joy cause they're winning games

Wow. Hard to believe what I'm seeing. Vegas had the Lakers at 30.5 wins before Summer League. Did Ball and Kuzma add 6 wins to the Vegas line?

36.5 wins for the Lakers: Actually, if one goes to the 'how many wins' thread, 36.5 wins is right in the midst of the ranges and estimates given by the majority of posters as well. In my highly unqualified opinion 36.5 wins is a very tough number to bet against, I'd hate to put serious over or under money on it. Unlike 30.5 which I thought was way low. I wouldn't want to bet more than a beer against 36.5 either direction, and even then only if it means I'm sitting down with a good beer next April win or lose.

34.5 wins for the Clippers: This is the line I have a harder time believing. Granted, oddsmakers and people who put money down on this are likely more informed than I am. I understand losing Chris Paul could really hurt the Clippers, and I'm not convinced Blake Griffin is a team leader. That said, 34.5 is just harsh. Low 40's just feels more accurate to me at this early stage.

I'd say Clippers still get the better record but not by much this coming season. Two teams heading in opposite directions and I prefer the Lakers trajectory.

Lakers have a good chance of getting more wins. Griffin and Gallo can be a bit injury prone, who knows how DJ look like without easy looks from CP3, Beverly isnt a playmaker PG, and Lou Will is not a starting SG at this point in his career.

RJ Bell, one of the top oddsmakers in Las Vegas, has the Clippers at 44.5 wins. If you find less, you better jump on the over.

As a fan, I'm hoping the young fellows shock the world.

It's the early 1990s, and a young, rebuilding squad, on the heels of losing the best player of his generation, generates enough excitement and success to lure the Big Fella from Orlando to Hollywood. Yeah, there's no young Shaq on the FA horizon, and rookie Lonzo/FA KCP are not the new NVE and Eddie Jones..but I'm a fan, so I'm rooting for an October-April surprise.

Depends. What's the over/under on Blake and Gallinari missing games?
I say games missed: 43.5 between the 2.
If they hit that, Lakers have a chance to have a better record

I think the Clippers are going to take a huge hit without CP3. Blake Griffin is not good enough to carry a team. I would not be surprised if they hovered around .500.

True - that 30.5 number I saw was before the KCP signing. Pretty big swing in the line.

Agree!
How are the Clippers that much better without CP3.
