Is Caruso a better defender than Bradley? If so there is zero reason to start Bradley over Caruso. Gimme that big long starting lineup.

Hands errywhere

A healthy in shape Bradley is several entire levels above Caruso defensively imo.. Not sure what some people here are thinking when putting Caruso ahead of him on that side of the ball. I'd love to see Caruso force the coaches to give him more playing time when hes given a chance during the season to prove himself.

With this team Being so vet heavy he will def. get chances throughout the season so it's up to him to show late last season wasn't just a fluke.

Because the Bald Eagle is bigger, younger and more athletic?

Get on board.

Cool I guess, still doesnt equal to being better but I'd love to be proven wrong so rondo rides the bench.

So far it looks like Caruso is going to be in the G League or riding the bench. He’s shown very little reason to play him over any of our other guard options. I’m pulling for him, and I hope he gets some time next to Lebron and AD next game, but he hasn’t earned anything yet.

Caruso still needs time to develop; he is not ready to be a starter by any means. At this point he is teetering between second and third string at best.
Fortunately for him he plays both guard positions and he plays good defense. He will get his share of playing time and help this team but he is not a gangbuster by any stretch of the imagination.
If he continues to work hard more good things will happen for the kid.

Caruso is not a starting player or even a star second string player right now.
But this is his first year as a member of the Lakers and not a G league bringup.
Caruso has good defense going for him and is 6 5.
But he is not a playmaker and not a dead eye shooter like Cook or Daniels.
He adds valuable backup depth and lets see how he does in his first full season.

1) It's preseason. Stop overreacting to preseason every season.

2) He should get minutes over Rondo regardless of who is ahead of him on the depth chart.

agreed... and Caruso was torpedo'd in these preseason games being put in lineups where he had to carry the entire offense with bench players

if Rondo and Caruso swapped rotations in the games played so far, Caruso looks 2x better and Rondo looks 2x worse.
and out of all the PGs he's still:
2nd best defender after Bradley
best athlete by a mile
2nd best playmaker/passer after Rondo
in running for 3rd best shooter after Cook,Daniels

Caruso is buried on the bench and will not get any PT.

Caruso earned a $5 mil payday. He will see some action. On the other hand Norvell is looking pretty good right about now.

Alex Caruso has a bone contusion, pelvis; X-rays were negative. He will not return tonight, and will undergo additional testing when the team returns to L.A.

Game Time Decision; apparently the injury is not very serious.

Watching him warmup for tonight. Glad he's healthy. Great opportuinity presenting itself tonight. Don't know if Vogel plays him. But if he does. I'm sure he'll be ready.

everything outside of on-ball, he does really really great things. It's like homeless Lonzo. Screens, defense

He broke up at least three Utah fastbreaks as the last line of defense. Very Fisher-esque.

I still like him in there over Cook or KCP. Good defender. Can yam it on people. Can hit the 3.

Might be worthwhile as a “SG” who can handle the rock a bit instead of a primary backup PG.

This is what I noticed as well. He was very active and has a good feel for jumping passing lanes. His defense was tremendous.

His offense has been ugly to watch but he’s a good defender still and safer with the ball at point than Cook.

What happened to this guy? It's like he's a different person compared to last year.
20 Minutes and we get 2 point 2 turnovers and a steal? I'll chalk it up to rust and health. It was just his first game back.
At least we got some juice from Troy Daniels.

He has a much bigger impact than his stats would suggest.
