I thought he was going to be doing about as well as he has if given the chance... didnt think his defense would be THIS good but projected his playmaking to be better than what it is right now

I thought he was overrated. I thought his defense was overrated. But maybe it was due to the annoying stans who were going super hyperbolic. I think he's playing a great Ron Harper/Shaun Livingston role.

Lebron had 6 TOs too. I think we had 8 in quarter 2 alone and a total of 13 for the game.

It's not really Caruso's handle imo that fails him in the P/R.. he just is really hesitant in it, he doesn't have a feel or confidence for how to manipulate the defense, or where teammates are open. It's a confidence thing to me.. I see his handle being solid elsewhere. Even Lonzo is decisive in just making the early read/pass, wherever that is ------- the P/R just doesn't seem to open up even this first read for Caruso.. dunno why.. and I don't think people would say Lonzo's handle is better..

Even though Lebron had 6 TOs (in a variety of different ways, one was an off-target full court lob) he seemed like the only guy we could give the ball to and have confidence it won't be stolen … even though it was stolen a couple of times. With Caruso it felt like every time he tried to drive and there was traffic it was a turnover.

Caruso's a brilliant 3 and D guy who brings lots of energy and he can bring the ball up the court, but he seems to lack traditional point guard characteristics. I don't feel confident in his handle or his playmaking.

Would definitely feel better with one more ball handler

If he can shoot at that rate, he should get more than a handful of shots per game.

Exactly where I was on him, for better and worse, regarding defense and playmaking both. Overall effectiveness is right where I thought. He does a lot to help win games, and I don't think Vogel playing him so much near the end of tight games is a happy little accident.

What surprises me is how many other Lakers are playing solid ball and how much of a solid lockdown unit these supposedly weak backup squads are forming. I knew Caruso could contribute to this, but I'm really surprised at how Dwight Howard and KCP are thriving. Vogel.

This only happens with the Lakers. No other accountant looking, white dude is getting this kind of marketing on any other NBA team.

NBA Twitter is going to get triggered

It's clear to this poster that until a move is made, for better or for worse, Alex Caruso is the wing defender we've all been pining for.

It's his job by default.

He's not big enough to guard the taller wings we've been struggling against.
