I know its not in vogue at the moment, but Vog has to start looking at this combo in the playoffs.

Frank Vogel cited that LeBron + Caruso is one of the Lakers best combinations in terms of net rating, and acknowledged that he tries to make sure they get a lot of time on the court together. Caruso was +23 tonight.
Still Bron with a team leading 35mins tonight against a JJjr.-less Memphis squad. For (bleep)'s sake...when are we going to get it? Vog, you better start acting right.

The thing that impresses me the most is just how active he always is on defense. Always poking at the ball, taking swings, knowing where to be. Tremendous on that part of the court.

Early on I was afraid AC is but a temporary novelty, loved mainly because of his occasional in-your-face dunks. I even disliked him last year because of the turnovers.
But he has turned into a complete player - defense, long ball, clever passing, above all, always seems to be doing the right thing.
What an incredibly fun surprise he has been. Please don't wake me up and is there a way transfuse some of this man's basketball DNA to freaking Kuz and KCP? (I'm REALLY hating Kuz right now.) _________________ Lakers fan since that Magical day June 25, 1979.

His effort and intelligence seem to really get under opponents' skins. Like they can't believe they're having so much trouble when this mild-mannered dude is on them. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

So what are the chances Caruso’s career will be better than Lonzo’s or Hart’s? I’m guessing Lonzo has a 90% chance of being the better overall player than Caruso when it’s all said and done. Hart has a 60% chance of having a better career than Caruso, but my guess is that they’ll wash at 50/50.
What do you guys think? _________________ “You have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.” - Kobe Bryant
So basically less Rondo and we have less negative net ratings. Do we want to actually win games or appease vets? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

Vogel Lebron and Pelinka aren’t stupid. I know they understand that Rondo is a detriment long before any twitter champion does. Rondo handles the ball way better than Caruso does. That’s just a fact. My guess is the plan was to replace Rondo, but Kobe passed. Then Collison bailed. So this is how it’s going to be for a little while. _________________ “You have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.” - Kobe Bryant

Assuming they're both healthy, I think Lonzo will be the better player all around. Better vision. Better defender. And if his 3 ball stays up, it wont be close. But Alex is in a great situation. He does the little things that's needed for us to win.
Hart vs Alex. That's an interesting comparison. I honestly like that Alex doesn't try to do things outside of what he's capable of. Hart is the opposite where he tries to do things outside of what he's capable of IMO. I think Hart will put up better numbers because of that, but again, the little things and playing within himself (limiting mistakes) is what's needed by us to win.
I like what the Accountant is doing for us. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!

That's fine. But he should only have 1 guaranteed shift.
And his ball handling is overcome by his atrocious defense. Just doesn't even give minimal effort in games that are not against the Celtics or CP3. Any net "gain" from Rondo's dribbling and ball handling quickly dissipate b/c he gets cooked on defense. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

But you do admit his defense in the Boston game was pretty solid? That was the blessing of not having Kemba available. If the opponent's PG isn't able to handle and get buckets on his own, I think Rondo's defense won't be as detrimental.
It does seem that Rondo gets up for certain games/matchups. That's the only reason why I have some hope in playoff Rondo, because of his mindset to value the game more. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!

I get that, but there are too many games where it was clear he was athletically unable to keep up or his shooting was just a detriment to the team. I would be very happy to have him as our 3rd PG, and yes, we didn't fix it, but I'm not counting on Playoff Rondo to show up. Small guards like him decline a lot quicker in their 30s than a big guy like LBJ. He has to start showing good habits on the court and he only does that sporadically. That's the problem. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

No doubt.
Rondo hasn't done enough this year to make one confident that PR will show up. This 3rd period of the season should be telling. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!

For Rondo, the moment Vogel passes him up to go with Caruso, that is pretty much it for him. He's already gone from 9m his first lakers year to a minimum deal. That is what he will be from now on. So I would be fighting for my spot instead of assuming that it's mine b/c I'm a vet. That may come crashing down real fast for him if he carries that laissez faire attitude, particularly b/c Caruso is such a polar opposite (and LBJ "cruising" is still good for 25/7/11 a game). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

A creative coach would be exploiting the hell out of our bench gems while Vogel underutilizes them. _________________ (bleep) Kawhi
Caruso shouldn’t even be on the bench. He should be starting next to Lebron and getting 35mpg. At some point this season, they actually need to see what that looks like.
