AC should play 30+ minutes. He has positive +/- most of the time even on losses.
He had +14 in today's game (highest) in just 19 minutes of play which is 2nd to the last playing time in the rotation today. Even THT played longer. smh |

Stat of the day:
Alex Caruso is plus-25 in Lakers losses.
Markieff Morris is plus-24 all season.
The Lakers have won the Alex Caruso minutes in every one of the losses he's been active for. They have been outscored with Caruso on the floor only once all season. |

This is hilarious. The two man lineup of Caruso & THT are an absurd +28.8 Net in 45 minutes together posting a 77.7 defensive rating. Only a six game sample but it feels and matches the eye test that there's something here. |

Caruso and Marcus Smart (hope he ok), these 2 somehow know which way the offensive player is moving to on defense lol, I know Tatum got the points but I thought AC played him tough |

If you look at some of the T&R threads I have noted the same. The 3 guard lineups even with Caruso-THT-Dennis, they also look legit great on the eye test. Dennis was defending Tatum on some plays.
We are best served when rotations come into play using guys that can be triple threats (pass, shoot the 3, drive) vs just single threats (3 ball) like Kieff-Wesley.
Kieff & Wesley have more value as starters around AD-Bron. Once you get into rotations, and Bron sits or AD sits, now you want some more ballhandling and multiple threat skills from behind the arc.
Also helps on D, those guys are so active, man. |

He’s our Marcus Smart. Doubt he ever goes anywhere unless something ridiculous happens. |
Yeah, unless it's a no brainer like part of a Beal type trade which I don't see happening he should absolutely be near untouchable.
I keep waiting for him to come back down to earth with his 3 as well but he just keeps draining them |

Caruso got called with a few bad calls yesterday, but he hung in there and still played hard nosed and effective defense.
He almost came up with that steal in the very final second, but got shoved away with an uncalled forearm. How he got in that play is insane, it saved the game for us. When I saw that pass go up I thought that was the game on a breakaway dunk, which would have been embarrassing and a kick in the chest. |

Through 16 games this season, Caruso has posted a plus-minus of +6.3 and a net rating of +17.5, the latter of which is once again the highest on the team, in large part due to his defensive rating. Per 100 possessions, the Lakers allow 10.1 fewer points with Caruso on the floor than they do with him on the bench. _________________ Keep winning! |

The Lakers utilization of AC is what confuses me the most. I mean plus minus can be deceptive but in his case it’s a real thing. And after seeing him start in game 6 of the finals and the Lakers best defensive effort, I would have expected him to start this season.
I mean the longer a net plus guy like him is on the court the more net differential in points and great chance of winning.
Perhaps starting Caruso is something Vogel safes for key situations on the playoffs do teams has less time to scout Caruso and adjust to things in does on the court ? |

Caruso will start close to playoff time. Vogel doesn't want to show his hand yet.
Caruso
Kcp
Bron
Kuz/gasol

Hope DS is ok with this if ever it happens. Lakers will be better if AC is a starter and DS leading the bench. |

Just play AD, Bron and AC combination for longer minutes and I guarantee you Lakers will be hard to beat. |

I've posted a 5-man lineup combinations in the other thread, you can look at it. And the best lineup so far is those 3 togeher with KCP and Schroder. And is the closing lineup in most of the close games. They have a Net Rating of +51.0 Though they just use it for total of 19 minutes in 5 games. Maybe they consider using that lineup more. |

So far Vogel didn't inserted Markieff together with this trio. The only combination with this trio who played more than 10 minutes are:
.L. James, .A. Davis, .D. Schroder, .K. Caldwell-Pope, .A. Caruso
Net Rtng +51
.L. James, .A. Davis, .D. Schroder, .M. Harrell, .A. Caruso
Net Rtng +21.2
.L. James, .A. Davis, .M. Harrell, .A. Caruso, .K. Kuzma
Net Rtng +13.8

Frank thinks Caruso is a 15 year vet from his looks so he's resting him for the playoffs |

It’s been the case since last season, playoffs even showed his value. This dude was the biggest small/cheap pick up in the Magic-Pelinka era. |
