No joke, but for the past few years, Caruso has been my wife's favorite Laker (even when he spent most of his time off the roster in the G-League). She was literally sobbing with joy last night cheering him on during his amazing beat down of the Clippers.
The last 4-5 games have actually been fun to watch if only because of his tremendous effort (and poster dunks, lol). |
Dude, that is so cool that your wife rocks with Caruso like that.
I was so proud of him last night too. Almost shed a little tear myself tbh.
Go Alex! |
Yep! And before that, she was always rooting for Larry Nance Jr. I've noticed she tends to appreciate under-rated, high character players that give 110% effort on the court the most.
I had to apologize to her about Caruso, though. My ongoing joke with her for awhile was that the only time we would see him in a game was when he was a victory cigar for our big lead, or a white flag for our big loss. He's turned himself into a nice player. |

Caruso back up PG
Hart back up SG
Free agent Kemba as starting SG
Draft KPJ as SG/SF or Clarke as back up PF/C
Buy a second rounder and pick up a prospect that might have dropped or euro
Great summer complete:)))))) |
That’s a nice backup backcourt, AC and Hart. |

Honestly I'm torn on this. I want Alex Curuso back next season and think he's the perfect backup point guard in the sense that we don't really need a ball dominant guard getting major minutes and a cheap backup so we can use cap space effectively for shooters off the bench makes sense.
But at the same time, if Lonzo Ball is our starting point guard and we assume he misses 20ish games then I really don't want a stretch with Curuso being our starting PG and having no back up. I'd rather have a more veteran PG to rely on in a playoff run.
I want him back as the 3rd string point guard but I also want him to go to a team where he can be the backup and get consistent minutes. _________________ “Life is too short. You have to keep it moving.” - Kobe |

Would normally agree about a vet backup PG but Caruso was a 4 year college player and has played 3 G league seasons with 2 as a two way player.
He can pass, shoot though at times streaky, is good defensively and score on cuts or drives. His on court demeanor is calm, focused and he does not try to extend his play beyond his abilities. Essentially he is a smart floor general who by the end of this season will have played 60+ NBA games.
I believe it is time for Caruso to be given the opportunity to compete for the backup PG. |

Go after a 3&D combo-guard and let Lebron and Ingram playmake if Lonzo goes down. Seth Curry and Caruso would've been better than Rondo this year in Zo's absence. _________________ Under New Management |

He's definitely made a case for being our back up PG next year. Time to say bye to Rondo and any other back up PG. Focus on shooters and a big to share time with McGee. |

His driving has been super impressive and it goes to show how important it is to have defenders respect your jumper. Even after this late season hot streak ends, if he can hover around 36-37% for his career, that's really going to keep some of those driving lanes open. _________________ Under New Management |

Why haven't we signed him to a deal like Jemerrio's?
Is there a CBA restriction from doing a similar deal?
Or maybe Caruso thinks he can get a better deal? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I hope the lakers will keep Caruso. With him and Rondo and Lonzo(or Kemba) to run the 1 is great. |

This guy could end up being a great role player on a good team.
He knows how to play and is a lot better than advertised.
I am a fan. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Could Caurso (if they resign him) be the Lakers' Fred VanVleet type for next season? _________________ Coach MWP. |

I assume you mean Kawhi type, and yes. Time for this stud to take us to a real championship now instead of just summer league. |

Will AD allow Caruso to be the primary scorer besides Lebron? I feel like AD will hinder the growth of Caruso, who should be the 2nd guy on our team _________________ Billions Billions Billions |
