Doesn't hurt as much when you never really see him as part of the rotation. I think he would have battled Kuzma for some SF time, or Hart for some guard time. I just hope Brewer is not the new Price taking away valuable minutes that should go to the kids.

They could have waived Ingram I suppose. |

Still, I wasn't a big fan of the less than 24 minutes per person 10-11 man rotation that Luke was doing earlier in the year. The top 4 players of every team in the league played 33+ minutes. I think too much was attributed to the second unit for the early success, so he coached and substituted around his second unit. When in fact, it simply boiled down to Nick and Lou shooting out of their minds. When players got injured, I thought he would become more traditional, and just use 9 guys, and be like the rest of the league where the top 4 players get the majority of the minutes. But nope, he simply plugged in Huertes or Calderon and continued giving minutes away to scrubs all in the name of having two groups of players.
If Magic and Pelinka are micro managers, this is the one aspect I would like to see them get involved in. |

If he does we have to ask ourselves what we see that no one else in the NBA sees. |
Teams need cap space to absorb his contract if they claim him off of waivers. How many teams have the $1,300,000 in cap space that they would use for a player like Nwaba?
According to http://www.spotrac.com/nba/cap/, teams with cap space:
1. Chicago Bulls
2. Phoenix Suns
3. Brooklyn Nets
4. Dallas Mavericks
5. Atlanta Hawks
6. Philadelphia 76ers
7. Orlando Magic
8. Denver Nuggets
9. Sacramento Kings
10. Indiana Pacers _________________ “When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.”

I really liked Nwaba. Was rooting for this guy. I'm bummed.
Rather have him than friggin' Deng.

I hope they get him back, he added a lot for an end of the bench guy. If no one picks him up the Lakers should jump on it. |

I like Nwaba's heart, and it'll be nice to get him back, but I don't remember this much concern about losing Black. Nwaba has only been with us for a few months, while Black was here for three seasons. Now that guy has heart, plus he brought a lot to the Lakers community. Should Black have been cut? 100 percent, but I just wanted to show him some love as we move into Lakers 2.0. |

Black was making six mil and is replaceable ( an upgrade in my view ) by Bryant who is making less than a mil. Black played with the team for two years and we'd seen who he was. I think Nwaba did much more and for much less money. |

It doesn't make David a full time NBA player though. Very nice kid, don't get me wrong but don't ask him to shoot if his life is on the line _________________ Major bullets dodged: DH12 - twice, LMA, Melo - twice, PG-13, DeMar DeRozan. Hit jackpot with DH-12 at the right time |

And of course we hear from the less than insightful sideline critic always ready to see the glass half empty. |

I think this view is all wrong. Would it be better if he had a consistent outside shot ? Yes it would. But he doesn't play outside himself and consistently shoots at a high percentage. I can't recall a game he played when I thought his lack of shooting acumen cost the team. I can however, remember many games were he impacted the game with his other skills. |

I hope they can bring him back, but my bet is that he gets picked up by some rebuilding team like Atlanta. Never showed a jump shot, but he proved to be a good defender that could also backcut to get easy baskets and was a decent passer. |

Did we have to sign KCP in order to meet the minimum salary requirement? I don't understand this deal. KCP is not necessarily better than Nwaba. We just gave a guy $18M when no other team (except the Nets because they'll take anyone) wanted him. We could have just gone into this season with what we've already got. _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024 |

Yeah.
Opinion of KCP off to a good start |
So, now you don't like KCP because the Lakers FO waived Nwaba to make room for him? |
It was spur of the moment. I take it back |
