He needs to develop a jumpshot first like Ariza was able to do. _________________ |

That sucks, I liked Nwaba. Hoping they find a way to re-sign but I doubt it. Some team will pick him up. |

It was an NBA salary cap rule.
To sign a NEW player have to be below the salary cap.
Nawba at 1.3M was necessary to sign KCP to make up .7M
difference.
Does that bring other FAs out of play?
Who can the Lakers sign now that at the salary cap?
Tyler Ennis was on the team last year. So can be signed.
The Warriors and Cavs are over the cap and somehow keep their great players.
Glad the Rob is on the job and knows all those rules. |

Dont think Doc ever leaves any space. Also, he will be picked up ahead of Clippers. |

Stupid Brewer - ahead of him on the depth chart making Nwaba expendable. Hope they resign him. |

Not a fan of this move.
He'll get picked up by another team. A guy like that always has a place in the league. |

He can still play. Thomas Bryant isn't signed yet but he's playing. The only caveat is if some team claims Nwaba and asks him to quit the Lakers SL team. _________________ The road back to the top... |

Couldn't Lakers have waived Brewer or was it because Nwaba is non-guaranteed or something? _________________ |

I think you guys are not reading all the posts. Can't sign a new player unless fits under the salary cap. See my post above.
It would seem that the Lakers can sign Bryant regardless of salary cap because he was drafted. Otherwise the Warriors could not sign Bell. But they are so good at playing the salary cap rules.
Rob knows all the rules and how to play them.
It is more complicated than I thought. |

I like him, but he's like a third stringer. Not a huge loss. |

I like Nwaba a lot, but I still think he would have ended up being 3rd on the depth chart behind Pope and Hart eventually. We might still pick him up, but I think we're all going to have to get used to letting some of our players go in the next couple of years. Don't get too attached to anyone not named Ball or Ingram. I guarantee about half of the remaining young guys either get traded or dropped once the first max domino falls. I just hope we don't end up with a bunch of ring chasers at the end of their careers and build more of a dynasty squad. If BI or Lonzo become superstars, I think we have at least a shot at this. |

I liked Nwaba but you essentially get exactly the same thing with KCP, but KCP is slightly better in every aspect plus KCP has a Jumpshot and a better 3 pt shot.
If he clears waivers, he'll be back because Magic likes him
If not, we will give the spot to someone else.
Our core rotation right now is Lonzo, KCP, Clarkson and (hopefully) Hart - Clarkson and Hart are both combo guards with good size. I like that and you can add Caruso (another combo guy) at the end of the bench or potentially Rondo, who would take minutes likely from Hart. With Nwaba still on the roster, where would he see minutes?
Also we don't need Ennis unless its to stash a proven NBA backup on the bench in case Hart doesn't work out... but honestly I think I have seen enough to feel comfortable with him becoming a decent backup.

Maybe if no one claims him. And if they don't at his price, maybe we overrate him. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I always thought he was a guy who would be on one of the two-way contracts when they were announced. I hope they can bring him back, just to lower the team's body fat %.

$500K is still $500K. I left my old job for another since they offered me an extra $4k pay. _________________ |

Thought this was a joke, he's been playing so well. Really unhappy about it, I hope we can get him back. |

I mean, it's not like he was really gonna play anyway with Lonzo, KCP, Clarkson and Hart in front of him anyway. |

I swear, the Clips are like guys that scavenge around our public storage unit, hoping we forgot something during a move. |

Let's hope he clears waivers. Otherwise I could see us signing Ennis for the minimum or a vet min.
I think Rondo will be signed for room exception unless he goes to Knicks _________________ 24 |
