$500K is still $500K. I left my old job for another since they offered me an extra $4k pay. |
Plus you're talking about the State of California where he's basically just trying to make his tax bill hurt a little less. I don't begrudge anybody getting paid but looking at his tax bracket, in this state; you better believe $700,00 is going to make a difference. That's money he's never going to see. |

I'm really disappointed by this--Nwaba was having a great preseason, showing a good knack for scoring with movement off the ball despite not having a jumper. Our youth aren't exactly known for great athleticism as well (besides Nance), so having an "athlete" was major, especically one with applied defensive chops (rebounding, steals, actual impact). Nwaba had a good foundation there. He's got a strong work ethic, completely under the radar and exceeding expectations.
Pope has a better value set, but as good as his defensive chops are, his applied athleticism (in the form of rebounds and attacking the rim) are relatively weak, and I thought Nwaba could counter that. But with all the youth we've imported in the draft over the past several years, some were bound to be casualties, and undrafted ones are easiest to cut. It's just a shame. |

This is an area Mitch wouldn't have made a mistake in. Probably would have declined his option and told him we will sign you at the end of FA. Not a huge mistake, but I kind of see it as a mistake by the new FO. _________________ Previously LBJ23 |

Thought this was a joke, he's been playing so well. Really unhappy about it, I hope we can get him back. |

I'm so bummed by this news. He can be a great glue player for winning team. I hope he clears waivers and resigns with Lakers but it seems unlikely. |

Feel for him only because he's an LA kid but that's the reality of this business. I hope he gets picked up somewhere.
If we sign Rondo, then our SG rotation is complete. KCP/Clarkson/Hart |

See George, Devean. Could've used our mid-level on what was the rumor at the time...Chauncey Billups? Had to use it on Devean instead because of the declined option. |

Fingers cross hope we can get him back, hope him well if we could not. Brewer is more than capable of filling the spot.
Ball/KCP/Ingram/Julius/Lopez (Wow we are long, ie GS mold)
Clarkson/Hart/Brewer/Nance/Kuz/Zu/Deng (Still deep bench wise)
Liking this team makeup (should be an exiting year) |

Except for the shooting, of course. I really like him. He played college locally to me. Hopefully, he clears waivers. |

Never thought I'd see BREAKING NEWS and David Nwaba in the same sentence! Hope we can get him back. |

In the SLO area? One of my former running backs will be a freshman there this fall. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Silver Lining of this Nwaba situation is more minutes for Hart. I'm not a Brewer fan & I was already hoping both Nwaba and Hart would be higher on the depth chart than him. I think it's a definite possibility now, if we can get Hart some serious minutes early in the season. |

Dont think Doc ever leaves any space. Also, he will be picked up ahead of Clippers. |
I swear, the Clips are like guys that scavenge around our public storage unit, hoping we forgot something during a move. |
And we seem to like Houston's leftovers. That's just how it goes... |

Yes, it would be nice to get him back. He's very creative with his scoring, which makes up for his lack of shooting. If he can't come back this season, maybe we can bring him back in the future. |

As good as his defense and activity was, we literally saw zero improvement in his jumpshot during these summer league games, and that was his main (pretty much only) area of concern going into the offseason. He's actually avoiding any shot outside of the paint, as was the case when he played last season, which is worse. I'd rather see him have the confidence to take and miss shots than to not take them at all, which essentially means he's at ground zero right now as far as being an outside threat. So even if he does develop a jumpshot, it's at least a few years away from being a tool that can be useful in actual games, as we're seeing how long that process can take with guys like Jules and Nance.
I'm guessing they're hoping they can re-sign him if he clears waivers, but not terribly attached to him given the above. |

What I loved about Nwaba is he's another high character guy ala Tarik Black. Hopefully he can find his way back to the team but if not, I'm sure a team will take him (and best of wishes to him). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |
