I'm actually going to agree with Skip Bayless on the Lakers this year and say they make the 8th spot, 42-40. I think Lonzo is a game/culture changer for this team. While they may get off to a slow start, I believe he will maximize the output from everyone on the team.

There's always a couple of wildcards: injuries, chemistry issues, etc..

The only locks to make the playoffs in the West for me right now are:

Golden State
San Antonio
Houston
Oklahoma City
Minnesota
Portland

Teams I expect to take a step backward (not sure how big):

Utah
LAC
Memphis

You would expect Denver and New Orleans to make a strong push for playoff contention, but that remains to be seen.

I wouldn't say Minnesota's a "lock" for the playoffs. Come to think of it, I wouldn't put OKC in there yet either.

I'm going to say we'll be a .500 team next year. 42 wins.

I think there's too much talent on those teams for them not to make the playoffs. OKC adding George and Minnesota with Butler and Teague.
