32 to 40

Lonzo is perfect for this offense and with everybody healthy, I believe that this team will get to 30 wins. I'm really worried about the defensive end. I wish that they hire a defensive minded assistant.

Any record better than 31-51 should be considered great progress.

I think you are being too narrow minded. I see between 25 and 55

Would be hilarious if we ended up winning 24 or 56

EDIT: winning 24 wouldn't be that hilarious

I am not guaranting anything, but it wouldn't be completely out of this world if the team had a dramatic jump like the 94-95 team did and win 48 games.

But damn the West is loaded this year.

Bye.

Realistically 35 would be cool. Anything above that is overachieving.

Absolute max if everyone over-performs and improves is probably 41-43.

We'll win just as many games as we'll lose.

You're right. In our defense, we're counting what it takes to get Larry O'Briens!

I think the Lakers will have a fairly potent offense and tremendous pace, and could perhaps be one of the highest scoring teams in the league, but they'll be below average on defense, partly due to pace, partly because a few key players still don't understand rotation, helping the helper, communication, etc. Just my guess.

IF lonzo and all other key contributors don't have any significant injuries - 40 wins.

And a pretty good buzz among free agents next summer.

Average luck - 35 wins.

Absolute failure - 32 wins or less.

We have no incentive to lose any games this time around. I agree the Lakers could get an assist from teams at both ends of the win/loss spectrum at season's end.

We'll be scraping and clawing our way to an 8th spot towards the end of the season... we be playing extra hard, racking up wins

First at 39! As far as giving a range, depending on good or bad fortune, I would say between 35 and 43 (8th seed), which puts my 39 right in the middle.

GT brought up a great point in his latest pod. During the regular season, most teams are going to struggle with the type of quick hitting offense Lonzo is going to bring to the table. We're going to end up feasting on weaker teams especially those in the Eastern Conference, and I think we might surprise some of the stronger teams especially early in the season.

I'm actually going to agree with Skip Bayless on the Lakers this year and say they make the 8th spot, 42-40. I think Lonzo is a game/culture changer for this team. While they may get off to a slow start, I believe he will maximize the output from everyone on the team.

There's always a couple of wildcards: injuries, chemistry issues, etc..

The only locks to make the playoffs in the West for me right now are:

Golden State
San Antonio
Houston
Oklahoma City
Minnesota
Portland

Teams I expect to take a step backward (not sure how big):

Utah
LAC
Memphis

You would expect Denver and New Orleans to make a strong push for playoff contention, but that remains to be seen.

I wouldn't say Minnesota's a "lock" for the playoffs. Come to think of it, I wouldn't put OKC in there yet either.

I'm going to say we'll be a .500 team next year. 42 wins.
