Tier 1a (The Chosen One):
Zo-MVP-caliber player in his prime. Other players want to play with him. Absolute culture changer. If his shot translates and he hones his mid-range game, can be the best player in the league.

Tier 1b (Practically Untouchable)
Ingram-Maybe not quite MVP level in prime but could be depending on how good of a 3-pt shooter he becomes. Looks to be a good iso player. Hopefully improves his defense. He has all the tools and work-ethic. Summer League was encouraging.

Tier 2 (Premium Value)
Kuz-Ceiling is taller Klay who can guard 4 positions. If he shoots like he did in summer league, he goes to Tier 1. Perfect player for the Lonzo offense. Scouts saying he should have been a lottery pick.

Tier 3 (Talented but Tradeable)
Randle-If he shoots 35% from 3 and improves his defense, he goes to Tier 2. Still unique skill-set/athleticism but looming contract decreases value.

Lopez-Stretch 5, expiring contract. Great fit with Zo. Not sure he is in the long-term plans unless he signs for much less.

KCP-Perfect fit next to Zo. I think his shooting numbers will be good and will provide some defensive intensity. Looking for a big payday next, likely not in long-term plans.

Tier 4 (Good rotation players vs Projects, Trade fodder)
Hart-Good fit within our offense. Solid all-around player. I think he stays long-term.

Clarkson-Gone. Scoring guard off the bench. Numbers might get inflated with Zo, hopefully increases trade value.

Nance-Solid rotation big. Too many injury concerns. Needs to improve shooting and rebounding. Good oop target for Zo.

Bryant-project. Needs to improve mobility. Stretch 5 potential. Not the best hands.

Zu-still young but he looked awful in Summer League.

Caruso-We can't trade the Pope.

Brewer-won't be here next year, possibly traded. Will do well with Zo on the break.

Tier 5 (Nuclear Waste)
Deng-hopefully can be attached with an asset and traded.

Love your list. Matches my thoughts pretty closely--especially at the top of the list.

When thinking about assets, I guess we need to distinguish between value to our team and trading value. Some of these assets are positive would be very difficult to trade because we don't have their bird rights (e.g. KCP).

Then we have the complicated issue of Randle (compared, for example to Nance and/or Zubac). Whatever people think of Randle's talents, there is a consensus that he may be hard to trade because of his upcoming contract needed. Nance thus may have more value around the league and perhaps Zubac too.

These are the guys I want to keep as well. It would be nice if Hart and Bryant become serviceable role players.

1a. Ball
1b. Ingram

The rest are tradeable and not as valuable as those 2.

it's almost as if a few weeks ago nobody had seen lonzo play vs NBA competition, and now we've seen him dominate the summer league

fascinating

Some people forget he is still only 19yrs old and just 2months older than Lonzo. Kuzma is 21yrs old already and yet to play an official NBA game, I like him a lot but I'd still rank Larry Nance ahead of him for now.

Cud you edit it to include my rankings instead? I don't want to mislead people. kthxbye

And agreed on Larry Nance. He was pretty much fulfilling the DG role until that injury in Charlotte. He should be ranked over Kuzma right now, but that might change once the season starts.

this. both untouchable but i rank ingram a tad higher. im higher on zubac(20yo) than most so i dont want to trade him, but for now he isnt better than randle(22) and nance(24), and maybe even kuzma(22 this month).

I'd have him in Tier 2, assuming "premium value" Is also tradable? He's not untouchable.

At this point, I'd have to rate Ball higher than Ingram. Ball will be great but he will also make other players around him great. That's what great PGs do. Unlike some some great two-guard who only scores for himself.

you're way, way off on Ingram. If Lonzo is Neo, Ingram is at least Morpheus.

I like the energy/passion Clarkson plays with. Sure he does nothing but score but keep in mind guys like Crawford, Young, Lou Williams, Bonzi Wells (hey theres a name) made a career off being that spark.

Randle disappointed me big time. Personally I never wanted him, I was hoping we'd get Smart that draft. But he doesn't play with any intensity whatsoever. He kinda just jogs up and down the court, passes, and shoots when convenient.
