It was Thabo, but apparently we couldn't afford him.
Brooks would keep the pace up, but I think Marshall would keep things moving best. |

I can only imagine Tyler Ennis watching that press conference Magic says they'll fill that spot in a week or two, Ennis looks longingly at his phone, no messages... |

Rather have KCP than Rondo. |

Taking into consideration that the Lakers want a vet, D-Will is the guy I like most out of the remaining options. |

The stats say different. He is clearly not the player he was in Utah, but that was a high bar.
Stats say he is still serviceable in most areas and good in some like PnR.
I think he is easily our best option. I would give him the full ML for 1 year. |

This. The benefits of the continuity that would come with Marshall spelling Ball outweigh the 'meh' factor in all the other candidates. This team is going to be built around Lonzo's style. |

If continuity is what you are looking for wouldn't Ennis deliver that?
Not exactly like they add significantly different stats or style of play. Both similar enough in experience and age to make it a wash. Ennis has 20 games of experince from last year.
Going to be interesting to see what they do. Would not surprise me to see a trade solve the problem somehow. Basically a PG not even being discussed |

No way, he is obviously washed up and Maglinka are shrewd.
It will be Clark, Farmar or Afflalo. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Smush Parker.
I mean ignoring the obvious of Ian Clark, Barbosa would be my choice. _________________ How can I get a copy of a Laker game played on Sunday, March 11, 2001 Sonics/Lakers? If you know PM me please

It should be interesting to see D-Will at only 8% body fat per Magic's decree. He'll be Tony Parker's twin... |

Really hoping this is true. I'm still gunning for Sessions plus one of those 3 or Barbosa. |

The stats say he is not washed up. If you look at his Dallas stats he averaged over 8 assists per 36 min, shot league average from 3, 48% from the field and almost a steal a game. Good pick and roll numbers still.
He is not Utah Dwill, but that guy was an all star. He is still around league average, which is good for a veteran backup pg.
Give him the MLE and move on to training camp. |

Couple weeks ago I wasn't in favor of Rondo but looking back, damn he would have made that bench impressive.
Anyway...
D Rose as a 6th man would be fantastic but he'll never take that deal and he's surely getting better offers.
Deron- always hated him since Illinois came back to beat Arizona back in 2004/2005. He'd be okay though.
Vasquez- always been thought he was underrated but health is a concern.
Clark- not a PG by any means per style of play, but he's. good fit with JC in the backcourt. |

Don't like any of them that much, but if I had to choose
Clark
Barbosa
Dwill
In that order. Clark and barbosa and familiar with what we do and both shoot well, dwill is just a solid vet but is probably looking for a playoff team.
I guess I'd rather see clarkson moved for an expiring Vet PG, or Randle/zu/Deng + picks moved for an expiring one if the FO feels that Kuzma and nance are enough at PF.
None of the FAs left really do much for me, Im sure Ennis would come back and he was a decent shooter in his time with us...although his D was atrocious. |

When you return from your 3 day suspension, I suggest remembering (1) to take your meds, (2) to avoid saying "F" anyone while posting here and (3) to remember that using all caps doesn't mean we "hear" you better since this isn't a radio show or a postcast...unless you have one of those nifty programs which reads text to you, but I'm still not sure those programs increase the volume if you use caps. If they do, my bad and well played. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

Good post, but honestly if he had anything left don't you think Cleveland would sign him?
They have nothing behind Kyrie at PG and would be wise to reduce his minutes and had DWill on their team last year yet no offer at all.
That is a big warning sign as is the fact he looks very slow by my admittedly non-scientific eye test. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

I'm not even thinking about what I would want. I'm not the GM. It's about what Magic (and Pelinka) wants. Magic has stated that he wants a veteran point guard to back up and help mentor Lonzo. I'm guessing he has his eye on Deron Williams as some have mentioned. If Deron wasn't on the verge of being washed up he would want to be a starter like Rondo, no? And he would want more money than we could give him. Deron was a pretty good assist guy in his younger days so he probably could help mentor Lonzo in his pass-first role. |

The advocacy for some of these mediocre players makes me think either player's agents or personal friends are actively posting on these boards.
Truly mindboggling.
ETA: I'd much rather take my chances on DWill over journeyman players who never were good at any point in their careers. |

1. DWill
2. Clark
3. Udrich
4. Ennis
5. Brooks
6. Marshall
I liked the idea of having another pass first PG on the bench in Marshall... until i saw his advanced statistics. He has played much worse than replacement level. _________________ (Deal 2 firsts to off-load Deng)
1. Sign PG, Lebron, JR.
(Keep firsts)
2. Sign PG, JR, Picks (Brook, IT, Shooter 1 yr deals)
3. Sign JR, Picks and 1 yr deals and run it back. |

Would Deron really willing to sign with the Lakers? He did say "I hate the Lakers." back in 2010. But the again, Ronnie Price said that too but still signed with the Lakers. |

Deron williams was fine with dallas. I had him in fantasy. Dropped him after his injuries. Idk what happened after but he sucked in the finals.
i'd take farmar over any of the other names being thrown around. |

How about instead of who we are taking instead guessing on when we make the move?
1 Day?
3 Days?
1 Week?
2 Weeks?
Longer? _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |
