With the addition of Ennis today and assuming we sign Bryant the average age of our roster will be 23.5. More than half of our roster will be 22 or under. The average age of our 4 starters (Ball, Ingram, Randle and Pope) will be 21 yrs old.
Lonzo Ball 19
Thomas Bryant 19
Brandon Ingram 19
Ivica Zubac 20
Tyler Ennis 22
Josh Hart 22
Kyle Kuzma 22
Julius Randle 22
Alex Caruso 23
Larry Nance Jr. 24
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope 24
Jordan Clarkson 25
Brook Lopez 29
Corey Brewer 31
Luol Deng 32 _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

We've come a long way from:
Steve Nash 40
Kobe Bryant 36
Carlos Boozer 32
Ronnie Price 31
Nick Young 29
Wesley Johnson 27
Jordan Hill 27
Wayne Ellington 27
Jeremy Lin 26
Ed Davis 25
Robert Sacre 25
Xavier Henry 23
Ryan Kelly 23
Jordan Clarkson 22
Julius Randle 19 (out for the season after Game 1)
...your 2014-2015 Los Angeles Lakers!
All we had to root for that year for Jordan Clarkson. Now Magic doesn't even know the kid's name |

If Deng's true age was factored in, the average would be more like 32. |

And for very odd reason, Pelinka doesn't think we are rebuilding, maybe he thinks we can be young and still win games which is possible. |

As long as these 23.5 year olds can win 35 games, I think age ain't nothing but a number.
Besides, next summer we'll be a lot older. |

So it seems to me Magic wasn't lying when he was preaching patience. Nothing was thrown out the window just because one trade was made. It's still a youth + 2018 capspace movement to me. |

Average age of starters 22.6. Only one starter older than 24.
Jordan Clarkson is the fourth oldest player on the team at age 25. Wow. |

That is why thirty-five wins looks likely. Youth and inexperience together, leadership expected of a rookie, questionable perimeter accuracy across the board, shaky defensive chops.
Patience, friends. This will take some time. They could be fun too. |

Patience! There is no time for patience.
I'm all in. Fifteen game improvement and a playoff spot if they run this roster. L
The losses will pile up only if the undermine the confidence and stability of he roster by overlooking this season and trading away players for the 2018 fantasy free agency. |

Holy crap. Are the Lakers the youngest team in the league? I could see the Nets and Suns being younger, maybe that's it |

Its incredible how young this team is. If we take out Deng who is probably not going to play is even more younger. For NBA in general its not good because in NBA the young teams are sh** but to look in the future is great. Its very important to start build your team early. I do not know what will happen next summer but if we keep this players for next three years I think it would be possible to move Warriors.
In three years:
Lonzo - 22yr
Ingram- 22yr
Zubac - 23yr
Randle - 25yr
Nance - 27yr
KCP - 27yr
JC - 28yr
It would still be the young team but with three years of building chemistry and system. Holy cr** |

I would love to see that development and roster. Sadly I am likely disappointed due to the quest for 2 max.
There is a better then average possibility that none of those players survive the next 2-3 years due to the roster building to support the proposed plan. At best 1 or 2 at the most. |

don't be too sad, if the player is replaced, it would be an upgrade to an already all-star level player |

If only that were true. This argument has been chased around like a dog chasing it's tail.
If the current 2 max plan is followed I see most of those players either let go for cost cutting purposes and the final couple to placate a win now philosophy that does not support keeping 20-21 year olds as the reality of marquee vets getting eliminated early makes the FO even more desperate. |

With a roster this young, this might be the new entry music for opening lineups...
"When I wake up set for practice
Lonzo's all ready to pass it
I don't know how he can see me all the time
By the time I hit the court,
If my attention span is short,
I'm in the corner just in time to see the pass fly by...
It's alright 'cause I'm saved by the Ball
If the Coach looks at the bench,
In my seat I'm on the edge,
But Mad Dog is telling me it's my night.
Jumpin' out of my chair
Lonzo knows that I'm there
Just keep my hands up for the kick-out and I'll be alright...
It's alright, 'cause I'm saved by the Ball..." |
