We probably could've made a push, before we made that trade. I can't see it now.

I think now its finally done. We can turn to develop some young guys. Time to ship Brook ass out. He nned to join Deng. Also I do not see the point of playing Thomas. He is not coming back anyway.
I am not surprise with the bad defense. Young teams cant play defense. Its well known.

Playoffs are gone, but the target should still be to reach 0.5 by the end of the season.
Duable, but we need to go 18-8 for the remaining season. Tough. Basically a 7-3 pace.
Anyway, all this is moot unless they start playing defence again.

Since January 7th the Lakers have been incredibly consistent and have three times won four games in a row followed by two losses. 4-2-4-2-4-2.
I would not mind at all if they kept the same rhythm.

The Celtics were/are young and they are one of the very best defenses.

Our starters in the few games before and after the trade have sucked. I think it's the case of the all-star senioritis.

With the looks of it, Butler is gonna be out and their next 8/10 are vs strong playoff teams.

Spurs have lost 7 out of last 10 as well and have a tough stretch of games coming up.
NOP seem to have the easiest schedule in the next 10-15 games.

But we need to keep the foot on the gas and make a strong push. Alot of variables, but Lakers still have a chance at the playoffs as we play UTAH twice in April.

I thought we had a fighting chance without the trade. We took a step back overall for the future.

Yeah the trade kinda stings right now but it was needed for the future.
We still have enough young talent, defensive effort and offensive punch to put up a good fight in games.

The main problem is that the teams ahead of us have been winning like crazy. So making the playoffs is a real long shot. But if we could somehow get to 40 wins, that would be amazing!

The lakers are so far back from the pack of 26 loss teams that they are going to need a good run of wins just to get close to .500. I said they needed at least a 7 game winning streak starting with the mavs last night. Miami and Portland will be the toughest teams. Spurs are looking old right now and are hard as it is to believe, they may drop out of the playoffs altogether soon. The Butler injury does make the lakers window slightly bigger but even if they go 8-12 in their last 20, the lakers would have to go 20-4 just to tie. Not looking good but they still have a small chance. Hopefully Lonzo's return sparks them and IT finds his shot.

We're about as locked in to the 11th seed as you can be at this point. We're 5.5 games behind Utah for the 10th seed, and 5.5 games ahead of Memphis for the 12th seed, with 24 games left.

I would be happy with us overtaking Charlotte and maybe Detroit in the standings.

Just to shiver the wounds, we probably have 32-33 wins right now if we didn’t throw away games

Are you happy with the overall direction of the team right now, though, as compared to last season? Or would you have preferred not making the trade and potentially riding the previous momentum we had to at least a real fight for the playoffs?

Out of those 3, I believe Utah and Portland will hit a skid.
NOP has the favorable schedule.

Utah plays GSW 2x in a 20 day stretch and Lakers 2x in April, so we can make up some ground then.

Im assuming it will take 42 wins to get into the 8th seed in the West. That means we'll need to go 17-6 over the next 23 games. Tall task but I don't think it's impossible

Not gonna happen. Young team isn’t good enough on the road.

That’s it right there, not good enough on the road.
