Very possible we get in or right at the door of the playoffs. We are 16-7 over our last 23. We can do better than that if Lonzo stays healthy. Although Josh Hart is out Lonzo is back and IT will get more PT buckle up.

Minnesota!

I Figured, no way we catch them unless they implode, there is a better chance of us passing the Spurs especially if they tank down the stretch

Btw most Spurs fans are in favor of the Spurs tanking and not making the playoffs which is weird

I think we can win our next three, making us 30-34. After that, we're have 18 games left (including 5 wins, 3 losses and 10 maybes). I think 36 wins is probably the most likely, but if we can go 11-10 the rest of the way, we'll be at 38 wins. Seems more and more of a possibility. Playoffs, however? No. Not only would we have to go something like 15-6 the rest of the way, but the other teams would suddenly have to start playing under .500 ball too, which is very unlikely to happen.

So you think they can win the next 3 which would give them 7 straight wins; Longest winning streak in years. Average win over the 7 games by at least 10 points a game. Going in on a tremendous High for a game that is not the usual 2nd game of back to back in Denver against a Nuggets team that may only be 4 games ahead of the lakers (if Cleveland wins both games against them this week) knowing full well that if they take care of business they can be within 2 games of them after the 2nd game and yet that first game is a not even a maybe on your list.

Don't have much of a future with aging stars and average role players.

Playing on the road in Denver is usually a loss. I'd say the most predictable losses for the Lakers are typically in Portland, Denver and Utah. Denver also just got Milsap back.

hard to argue with that....hate playing at all 3 locations.....and for some freaking reason, Orlando and Miami (except last night) have been losses even when we are the better team.

my argument for that they strangely usually play in Denver on the 2nd game of back to back, not this time

Have you seen their schedule, they will implode without Butler. I got us finishing tied with Minessota for the 7 and San Antonio gets the 6th finishing one game better. but only if the Lakers finish 17-4

Root for Minessota Tonight, their schedule is far harder than Utah's, and we might lose the season series to them with a loss in Utah so that loss might help to keep us from tying them.

A lot of teams who we are tying to catch have been fortunate to play some bottom feeders at some point we just gotta hope they slide a little bit, and we continue to win.

I think we can still set our own destiny. We have to keep a close distance to Denver, Clippers and Jazz because We play Denver twice, Utah twice and Clippers on the last game.

Minny just dropped from 3rd to 6th.
Theres still a chance at the 8th spot.

This is our 4th FOUR game win streak. We've followed up the previous three with 2, 2, and 3 game losing streaks. They've been teasing all year long. Granted, IT is a wild card now. But with San Antonio and Portland coming up, It feels like the same trend will continue. I'm not a believer unless we get this 5th game in a row in San Antonio.

Minnesota dropping from 3rd to to 6th is only a testament to how tight things are between 3-8. They all have either identical records or they’re separated by only a couple of games at the most. The Lakers are still a ways away from even entering that race. The current team they’d have to pass first is Utah, but Utah is 5.5 games ahead of them. So what makes a legit run at the playoffs such a long shot is the fact that there’s so much distance between them and the teams that are in front of them. In terms of how much time is left in the season, it’s early in the fourth quarter, and the Lakers are down by 25 points.

Is it still theoretically possible that they can pull off an incredible comeback and win the game? Sure, but it’s not very likely. It’s difficult to pull yourself out of such a deep hole that late in the game because you basically have to play outstanding the rest of the way, and the opposing team has to fall apart. That’s where the Lakers are in the standings. They have to keep winning most of their games, while the teams ahead of them have to start piling up losses. One of those things could happen while the other doesn’t, but both? It’s nearly impossible. I’m still clinging to hope that it’ll happen, but it’s pretty bleak.

Part of the reason I still have some hope is because that 2013 squad (the Dwight season) went on a tear post ASB and managed to squeeze their way into the playoffs at the last minute. But remember what it took? Kobe had to play out of his mind and will the team to so many of those wins. And in the end, the number of minutes he played and the load he had to carry is likely what led to him tearing his achilles. Point being, it’ll take an awful lot for the Lakers to sneak in. It sucks, but that’s the reality of the situation at this point

Riding the end of the season with only 7 losses (would get us to 0.5) is going to be really tough. So far still possible, though. It is more or less the same pace we have had since that 9-game losing streak.

My post Spurs game on high hot take - assuming Ingram comes back without delay, I predict we go 13-7 the rest of the way. That means we end up at 41-41.

playoffs mean nothing. if we get at least 38-40 wins, that's good enough for PG to give us a chance

Only way I see us getting that 8th spot is if we beat the other 3 teams to 40 wins. Spurs and nuggets need to go around 4/5-10 the rest of the way while the lakers need to go 12-2. They'd be at 40 wins with about 5/6 games to play.

still almost impossible but one week ago we needed something like 20-5 for the rest of the season. now we need something like 15-5 and we have some home games finally (against good teams)

I find it amazing that some here were rooting for Denver tonight to improve our Cleveland pick this year instead of improving our playoff chances. In a month a lot of them will be wishing they had that game back when the Lakers are one game out of the playoffs.
