8-10 on Nov 21
11-27 on Jan 5
After 8-10, we went 3-17!!!!!!!!! I forgot how pathetic we were. Luke and his 11-man rotations, Andrew Bogut love affair, let’s bring Randle off the bench, etc. In between those 3 wins were 5, 3, and 9 game losing streaks.
But if we actually think we're still in the hunt for the 8th spot, then why not shoot for the 3rd seed? LOL! There is no separation from 3-8. Rockets, Warriors.............. everyone else.

The 1% chance scenario is that we win all the toss-ups. Miracles do happen though right?

Why would you say @spurs and @pistons are losses and not toss ups, have you seen them play lately, they are not very good, in fact san antonio is playing the worst ball of seeds 3 through 11 and are the most likely team to fall out of the playoffs altogether now.
Lakers have a good chance to beat cleveland at home too and vs houston near the end of the season is not a guaranteed loss, houston may have their position locked in by then so it may not matter to them and could rest players with made up injuries or just play them limited minutes.
"What are you going to do, shoot us?" Said the sponsors. 8-10 on Nov 21

Lakers would have to go undefeated the rest of the way to contend for a top seed and that aint happening. Realistically they only have a shot at the 8th if they only lose between 4-6 games and 3 of the teams in front of them start dropping multiple games (with at least one of the current playoff teams playing .400 basketball the rest of the way) Unlikely but still possible especially considering that Minessota is a sub .500 team without Butler and the Spurs are playing at their worst at the start of their toughest part of the schedule.

Agreed....
Even if we miraculously get to 42-40, that probably won't do it this year. Seems like everyone is on pace for 45+ wins.

Have you not seen this team this year? They are young, inconsistent and terrible on the road. Sure we have good chances to beat some of these teams, but more than likely they will choke, make young player mistakes and lose games they should win. As they’ve done all season. It’s nothing to be upset about..it’s not like this is a playoff or bust season for us. 35 wins alone would be a good season and big improvement from last year.
Playoff would be a difficult task. I would be happy if we have a better record than the Clippers by the end of the year. Which in itself is a difficult task.
A lot of things would need to happen for the Lakers to get that 8th seed. All the teams above them would need to tank and the Lakers would have to go on a very long winning streak. They'd need to leapfrog 3 teams, hoping they all go on a colossal choke job reminiscent of the 1995 CA Angels.
Playoffs are impossible given all the tanking teams. Because not only do we play them, but also the teams we're competing with. The teams above us simply won't lose enough for us to make a meaningful move up the standings.
I'm actually more interested in the Pels, Jazz, and Clippers playing well enough to keep the Thunder out of the playoffs. That's something that's actually possible.
Lakers should still aim for a 42-40 finish or better, regardless of whether they make the playoffs or not, finishing all-star break going on a 19-6 run would be a great sell point to free agents if they wanted to go that route of "we're on the upward swing" which is why winning is so important. If winning is a part of the pitch (as in currently winning) then it makes the pitch a lot better. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Damn OKC and Pelicans are fortunate there playing tanking teams, the real OKC team is the one that got blown out by the Warriors, Pelicans have had a soft schedule....

Speaking of soft schedules, the lakers play an actual NBa team Thursday ..can’t play Atl, Dall and Sac every night..

True, the schedule had been ridiculously easy but in their defense, they are consistently beating the teams they should beat and that hadn't been the case earlier this year.
In the 15-7 streak, they had 3 good wins against decent playoff teams, Celtics, Pacers, and Thunder.
After that it has been the Bulls, Suns, Kings twice, Hawks twice, Mavs twice, Thunder G league team, Spurs G league team, Knicks, and Nets.
They are much improved but this month will be a much better test of how they stack up against the playoff teams.

If the Lakers can close with another 15-7, Denver only needs to go 9-13 to freeze them out. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel

Did you read the numbers? They can go 8-14 and we have to go 16-6 just to tie. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel
