Nice veteran move there ZBo!

Quote:
Law enforcement sources tell us 3 people were seen grabbing their waistbands and running -- so cops went after them.

Three people were detained -- including Randolph, who was eventually arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to sell, A FELONY. We're told the "intent to sell" part was due to the large amount of weed found.

You'd think some of these knuckleheads could find better places to hang out once they become millionaires. Just plain stupid.

Wonder how much he had on him. With the passage of Prop 64, it's legal to possess up to an ounce.

It should be an interesting issue with the NBA. The state/Fed laws differ on weed, and IIRC, the NBA does not allow for weed use (or they test for it)?

I don't think any of the major professional sports permits it although the NFL is at least willing to study its effectiveness for pain management.

The NBA really doesn't police players in the off-season. Remember when Lamar Odom was doing massive amounts of coke during his off-seasons? It seems like they were more active in going after recreational users back in the 80s when public perception of the NBA as plagued by drug abuse was higher. The NBA is the worst of the three major professional sports in America when it comes to drug testing.

I predict Zach will get a suspension at most and charges will be dropped or reduced to a misdemeanor.

Doesnt make sense... Why would he need to sell weed? He's an NBA vet... dude's probably rolling in cash.

But seriously... what the hell is wrong with these dudes? Why put yourself in that situation?

Doubt he was.

Even though it's legal now, and I'm not even sure when Prop 64 goes into effect, you can only possess a limited amount. He probably had more than that so he's charged with intent to distribute.

They probably haven't got the laws straightened out yet.

11pm
Nickerson Gardens projects
2 pounds of weed
Felons with guns
Crowd turns on police
Bottles and rocks, broken cop windows and slashed cop tires
Zach arrested again for the same stupidity

Nickerson Gardens is the largest housing project in the West, and home of the Bounty Hunter Bloods
There is a big wall on which they write the names of the deceased
Zach is going to screw around and wind up with his name on that wall

I guess the Jailblazers era was before your time. I think there was a recent documentary about it. There was Damon Stoudamire, Rasheed Wallace, Zach Randolph, and a couple more. I think Paul Allen actually tried to sell the team because he was so disgusted with it.

Why would you achieve wealth and fame only to risk it all by hanging out in that landfill?

Zach Randolph tried to run, but even after the cop stopped to report it in and tie her shoes, she still managed to catch up to him.

I think candypandy is well-aware of the jailblazer history and that he was playing on the blazer (weed) aspect of the meme.

We won't have to worry about the Kings, looks like there gonna be dark clouded by this, cause Randolph was supposed to be a mentor for there young roster.... another bad acquisition by the Queens.

Agreed! I'm almost certain the cops were following him, and when they saw him go into the projects they called it in. At that point they had to take somebody to jail. I've been inside the Nickersons several times and it's more dangerous for cops than anyone else. It's really not that bad unless you're from an opposing gang or you come in there looking for trouble.

There's so many levels of foolishness here I don't know where to begin. Why would a 36 year old multimillionaire athlete be partying outside with guns and weed at Nickerson Gardens? I could care less about the weed charges, that's the least of the stupidity. The guy is a fool.

Guess Z-Bo still got that hood cred since he went back to the projects and didn't get shot, stabbed or murdered.
