Exactly.
Sports legends can only dream of the type of final/farewell performance that Kobe had to close out his career. Most people were saying the day after that if you had written that ending into a script most people wouldn't believe it for being too fantastical.
That should be the last memory of Kobe Bryant on a basketball court. |

That was the best non-championship career ending performance I've ever witnessed... even MJ's last game sucked |

If Kobe wants to do it, I'd watch.
If not, I won't lose any sleep over it.
Think its silly to say he shouldn't do it, if that's what he wants to do, let him make that decision. |

Definitely not, Rafer Alston i'd be fine with but not the other guys. I love watching NBA players from when i was younger, a bunch of street guys would make me lose interest fast in this league. |

Either way that would still be his last image on an NBA court, to say he should never lace them up again out of fear of being scored on is silly. Guys like James White are looking like gods out there, surely Kobe can hold his own. It's been awesome watching Kareem Rush again, loved watching him when we had him. Kwame Brown is still terrible, it amazes me how bad he looks even in this league. |

Kobe playing in that league would be like me posting on the ESPN Lakers Board.
Not going to happen....guys like us only play in the Big Show. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Cube wants someone to play in the league that he owns who would instantly guarantee a sell out and take the TV ratings from competing with the guy who sells swords to something that probably puts it in the top 5 in its time slot?
What a shock.
In related news, he would also like Denzel to be in the next installment of Barber Shop. |

Aww the ESPN message boards. Almost unreadable sometime (I did find some gem posts though) but man do i miss them. Worst thing espn ever did was remove the boards. I almost never go on their site now. |

Half court 3v3 with retired nba players, it's actually really awesome to watch, especially if you grew up watching these guys. |

I remember people flying from overseas and paying thousands of dollars for tickets to watch Kobe's last game. They had a Lakers fan event for his last game before the game. Stuff was printed and commemorated for that occasion. Not to mention Kobe's having a game for the ages. He also dropped the mic.....yea, so the chance of him coming of retirement to play what is basically pick up ball with a bunch of other 40 year old ex-NBA players? |

Fun is fun, if he wants to play some more, it's a great way to stay in the game and play the game you love, without having to dedicate your every moment to it. |

Coming out of retirement? He wouldn't need to do that to play Big3.
I agree the chances are unlikely. I wouldn't expect Kobe to do it either.
What I don't get is ... if he did decide to do Big3 or something like it, why any Laker fan would not be cool with it.
If you want his last basketball memory to be the 60pt game, I'm not sure why him playing Big3 makes you forget about that last NBA game. |

Exactly, him playing in a pickup league, hardly diminishes how he finished his NBA career. |

Why in the world would any fan of Kobe want to him to participate in Big3?

Some stuff is better left as it is...
I admire Kobe man... I love a lot about him and most of it really has little to do with basketball.
My opinion... Kobe may come back to basketball in some fashion. But to do it with dudes like Kwame Brown and Brian Cook... Kobe is bigger than that.
You have to understand... Kobe is all about getting better by pushing his limits... There has to be a challenge. Something to be gained. He gets nothing from Big 3. Absolutely nothing...
I miss Mamba... Damn I miss his. But he is pushing his limits right now. He knows basketball will always be there for him. Right now, he's diversifying himself.
Again... I miss him... But I am also happy for where he is in life. There are a lot of haters who never thought he'd be able to give up basketball... Some people defined him by basketball. I think Kobe did the same to himself for many years.... Now, it's all about exploration.
Let Mamba be happy... He hasn't gone too far... He'll be back. _________________ “There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. If it kills you, it kills you. A man must constantly exceed his level.” ―Bruce Lee |

I don't get it, though...
Aren't you the same poster who went out of his way to NOT watch Kobe's final game (where he dropped 60) as some form of protest against the Kobe Farewell Tour? |

I'd watch Kobe shoot on a nerf hook, BIG 3 is a ton of fun to watch, would love to see Kobe in it. Heck it's fun just watching guys like Kwame Brown, Brian Cook, Mo Evans, Kareem Rush etc... |
