With the AS weekend being in L.A. the huge fan base of our team might help us get 1 of Ball or Lopez in the all star game, who do you guys think has a chance to represent the Lakers during AS weekend? |

Fan voting alone isn't enough. They re-did the All Star voting process/weight of fan votes. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Lonzo and Ingram in the Rising Stars Challenge.
I don't think Kuzma and Zubac get enough minutes to get in.
Lonzo voted in if L.A. fans wake up!
And surprise all-star... Julius Randle. Yea I said it! |

Ingram was #29 in fan voting last year, so I don't see any of our guys getting in if they don't deserve -- and I wouldn't want them to. Being an all-star only because fans stuff the ballot is a meaningless accomplishment.
Brook Lopez probably has the best shot. But I think all our guys are long shots unless someone is injured and the league names a Laker as an injury replacement. More likely, I think we'll be represented in the rookie challenge and dunk contest, rather than the game itself. |

Steep.
Even though they've taken the "center" position out, just in terms of "centers:"
KAT
Boogie
AD
Jokic
D.Jordan to name a few. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

His competitors are every forward in the west.
I didn't know they weighted down the fan votes now. Thank China, I guess. Sucks for Zo.

We can start a pledge list to vote for him as many times as we can when voting opens. It should be doable. |

All star voting works like this. Fans, media and players are all vote for 2 guards and 3 frontcourt players. For the starting spot Lopez is in competition with every center, PF and SF in the conference.
The coaches vote for the 7 reserves -- two guards, three frontcourt players, and two wildcards. So for the three front court spots he is in competition with every C, PF and PF who is not a starter; for the two wildcards he is in competition with every player who is not a starter.
The fans usually vote in all forwards as the western starters. The coaches usually include one true center, and sometimes as many as three.
If there is an injury, the commissioner selects the replacement. He can be any position. Lopez made the team once as a replacement for Rondo. So if a PG gets injured the commissioner might replace him with a center. On the other hand, if a center gets injured, that doesn't mean his replacement will be a center.

How many national games do we have before the voting ends? Lonzo is such a fun player. With increased national exposure... I dunno, maybe. |

If Lonzo or Ingram get there, it means that we are having a good year. I won't bet on it so I'm on the hopeful side. |

Remember, fan voting only counts for 50% of the total vote. The other 25% is media/current players. So just the fans alone wouldn't get Lopez in. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

He had probably a career season last year, but the fans and coaches didn't put a single center on the eastern squad. The west is tougher so he really would need a breakthrough year to deserve to make the team.
Still, I think he's our best shot. Ingram needs too much of a leap to make the team, and it's unlikely for a rookie PG to make the team. I think the last time a rookie guard made the all-star team was Jordan in 85. |

If the OP inquired about which Lakers player will garner the most all star fan votes, probably Lonzo (though it's probably not enough b/c 50% of the vote is comprised of current players/media).
If the question was which Lakers player will likely get the most aggregate fan/player/media vote, it's a close one IMO b/w Lonzo/Brook (who probably gets some players/media vote). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |
