As a California resident I can attest the above is true.
I've actually engineered my own "firing" once when faced with a similar situation as the Op's wife. Walked away with a great severance and an 2 month vacation.
Again however, it depends on the industry and occupation.
What is the "Job"?
If it's at a car dealership or RealEstate company, forget everything I've posted. |

one thing though is that all of the stuff they are doing is being done verbally so it would be a 2v1 in a "he said she said" situation with the director of an entire department against her.

That does not matter, so a director can sexually abuse a dock worker because he has higher authority? Nope, not in the eyes of the law...
