They may become the weapon. In a sense, if one can pick a good from the bad, they may cause less deaths than bombs and automatic weapons.

Death toll can cause more than bombs and automatic weapons if they choose a bigger vehicle. That guy who drove a big rig thru a crowd killed 86 people. And the problem is unlike guns or bombs, its harder to detect somebody with the mindset to do such an act.
here comes driver-less cars now for OTHER safety reasons. Wont even have a steering wheel. so you cant get into the drivers seat and do damage.

but for now all that can be done is every single city street along the side walk gets the huge metal poles that stick up out of the ground. this wont save people in the cross walk or other cars/bike riders on the street side. but it could save pedestrians and people having a cup of coffee or dinner sitting outside along the sidewalks. it would cost a lot of money. but i dont see any other thing that can be done aside from what they are already doing which is trying to find people before they get a chance to do this kind of stuff.

The question is it worth the hassle and money to install bollards or guardrails in every highly trafficked sidewalk. Even if you do all the intersections are easy targets and you can't really secure those in a cost effective manner. Either way seems like this is the new normal.

Well, this is happening in Spain and they pulled out of war on terror activities outside of Spain since the Madrid bombings in 2004....crack open a history book and read Spain's importance in the Islamic caliphate.

Spain is still part of the war on terror, behind the scenes for sure, if not publicly. the terrorists know this and are trying to make a statement. They're looking for soft targets anywhere in the west. they won't stop until we stop bombing their villages and pull our troops out of their countries. Even then, it might take a while for them to forget.

they're not trying to reconquer Spain. Just stop.

Too bad you are wrong.
Quote:
Spain has been cited for years on jihadist websites as a target for historical reasons. Much of its territory was under Muslim rule from 711 to 1492 and its links with Morocco remain strong, with the Spanish cities of Melilla and Ceuta on the Moroccan coast. Last summer, Isis called on militants to attack Spanish tourist haunts including nightclubs, cafes and bars. They were exorted to use explosives, guns and lorries to avenge the “crimes committed by Spain against Muslims”. The Isis message, issued by its media arm, cited the battle of Las Navas de Tolosa in 1212, known in Islamic history as the battle of al-Uqab, in which Spanish troops killed 60,000 Muslims.

And Spain does a lot of behind the scenes policing against Jihadis on the European continent...unless you want them to stop doing that and be a sitting duck.....

Again, ISIS influences wayward kids any way it can. Kids that saw their families blown up and even some more educated idealistic lost kids in Europe. And they'll use any tidbits of history to help their cause. But like i said ISIS and other terrorist organizations where born out of our modern policies in the middle east. your ideas that they're out to conquer Europe by staging these vehicle ramming terrorist attacks is paranoiac

Those aren't my ideas. They were the idea of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. He was the leader behind the political idea of a worldwide caliphate. Vehicle attacks are one of the weapons to achieve their goals.

Outnumbered police officer in Cambrils killed four of the five by himself and certainly saved a lot of lives.

Just like a terrorist, bring axes and machetes to a gun fight.

Quote:
The heroic officer stopped the four suspects, who were said to be armed with axes and machetes after their Audi was overturned, according to a Spanish newspaper.

LMAO

Reminds me of insurance companies saying many people are seriously injured by things they have in their car when an accident happens..

That scene sounds like it is straight out of a comedy flick.. Driving a 2017? Audi and carrying axes and machetes.. wtf.. lunacy

I didn't expect the Spanish in position.

That's not realistic at all. How about we just live our lives and relize that we have a better chance of dying driving to work than by a terrorist attack.

I couldn't get past this article *possibly NSFW
https://www.yahoo.com/style/elle-macpherson-53-spent-entire-summer-swimsuit-193724258.html

On the other hand I had a off the charts iq friend who talked about the Moors and their ways at the time.. saying they came to Alexandria and looked at the library of Alexandria and said "If it isn't a Quran BURN IT!"

Wait.. so ISIS wants to take back what the Moors stole from the original inhabitants?

Someone needs to send them a tweet

Something I think many don't realize, was overlooked. The police officer who shot the terrorist was a WOMAN The headline says Police Officer. I think the distinction should be noted.
