The Lakers took a short break yesterday to sing "Big Green Tractor" while working out with Lakers trainer, Gunnar Peterson. Watch Brandon Ingram in the 2nd part to the clip. 👀

Not sure what was more impressive. The team singing "Big Green Tractor" or the Purple & Gold Tractor punishing the rim on that dunk!

Between his one summer league game and this one play, he's holding the ball too long IMO.

It looks like a play designed to have him go one on one.
If you see it again, notice how the passer gives the ball to Brandon and then clears out. On the other side, Lonzo clears out too.
Summer league was just a bunch of dudes doing random things. So I dont know if thats a good measure of how long he holds the ball.
I know that last season, plenty of folks were complaining about him being too passive, so Im glad he's being more aggressive.

I don't even think he's turned 20 yet. I'm pretty sure he will improve at some of those things.

it'll be interesting to see how this plays out during the year. I've seen other players of our criticized for being ball stoppers on playcalls that are clearly ISOs

That was a Kobe move, I remember him doing that during games, looks like he's been training with the Mamba.

Yes, some can't see the difference between ball stopping and planned isos. I am one of them so I rarely criticize for that. I assume that if they are doing something that the coaching staff doesn't want them to, they will be pulled. Luke never seemed shy about that.

It was clearly a play for him.

I'm seeing states like Georgia, WV, Indiana, Wyoming on their bios. Those are the rednecks on the team.

As an adopted Hoosier I'm not too proud to admit I know people who dig that song.

If you have a mismatch, you take advantage of it. Ball movement is to create a mismatch to your favor. If mismatch is not there or u have no success with the mismatch then you move the ball around.

He can play within our pass heavy system. That no look pass he flung in Summer League was as impressive as anyone's. Every team needs a star who can ISO when the play breaks down, or when there's only seconds left on the clock. Ingram will be that guy. Luke has already stated as much. I have no issues with how Ingram is playing thus far.

When he slams it down with that kind of authority, I can live with him 'holding it too long.'

You still need elite iso player in today's game when the offense breaks down. GSW has 3. Cavs had 2. Lakers have BI and maybe BLO.
