I've noticed when out with some ladies I'm not given the chance to be chivalrous.
I park the car and before I can get to the door to open it for some of my acquaintances they're already out of the car.
When taking one to dinner if she says she has to use the little girls room before I can rise to pull her chair she's already standing.
I still walk up stairs behind a woman, down in front. When waling on the streets make a effort to walk curb to right. Make a effort to open doors.
Many women don't wait. Is it the independent woman syndrome?
Query; Who's most at fault men or women.

I don't look at it as fault per se. Fault implies it is a bad thing that chivalry is on the decline. But if you're looking for something to blame, its feminism.
Ultimately, different women like different approaches. I've gone out with many women who still hold traditional values, some that hold no traditional values, and some a hybrid.
For me I like the hybrids. They are the ones that don't expect it like they did in the old days, but still appreciate things like opening the door and don't get too caught up with notions about how you opening tjhe door for her is a statement that she cant ooen it herself. |

Online dating ruined it and it's the men's fault.
I still open doors and what not and it's always received well if it's meant and done properly.
Imagine you're a woman. A man takes you on a date, pays for everything, opens doors and is polite. At the end of the date when you're saying your goodbyes and maybe thinking about a small kiss, the jack hole you went out with expects you to invite him in for sex then never calls you back if you decline the advance.
Men use chivalry to disguise their perverse intentions.
Prove it wrong and most women actually appreciate chivalry when genuine. |

| Do women still stay home to cook, clean, raise the children, etc. ? Times have changed. I still open doors for women but most of them don't expect it although they do appreciate it. |

| I'm sorry, but what's the problem here? They're not allowing you to do things for them that they don't need/want you to do? Who are these acts of kindness for then exactly: you or them? As far as I'm concerned, if someone does something nice for me just because I'm a woman, I'll appreciate it, they did something nice for me after all, but ideally, I wish they'd do it indiscriminately, which is what I do. I hold doors open for women, men, young and old, it doesn't matter. If I want to do what I think is something nice for someone, but they don't seem to want it, then I stop. How about we treat people as individuals, not as monolithic groups? |
