Rad gives them better outside shooting, spacing the floor.
Seattle gets a bit tougher inside.
I don't see how either team loses out on this trade. They both address weaknesses. |

Who is going to help inside for the Clippers when Brand and Kaman are in foul trouble or tired ? |

Rad can play the 4, he'd get squished on defense but he'd create mismatches on offense. Clips aren't known for their stellar D.
Really, I don't see how you can't think this is a good move for Clips.
Sactown and Clips got stronger. I'm not one for wanting a trade for trade's sake but if division rivals get stronger, Lakers can't just stand pat.
Look for Portland and Denver to get better by the deadline too, btw...

Man, Sprewell and Vlad - two prime examples of greed costing you big bucks.
I don't think Vlad takes major time away from Magette. I think he'll come off the bench to supply some extra firepower at the PF and SF positions when Brand and Maggette are taking a breather. |

At least someone is working in LA these days...
I find it interesting that Jeannie Buss, Rambis, Kareem and Phil are all taking time to do radio and tell the media that they don't think a deal will be made before the deadline.
Do the Lakers still have a GM or is Mitch still painting Jim Buss's office? |

I think its a good trade for both teams. Aside from Rad's outside touch, he also brings some playoff experience to the Clips. For the Sonics, they've probably already made up their mind on Evans, Forston so they need another big, plus they were sure to lose him next year.
Guess the trades that gets done are those that fly under the radar. Am not sure if emplay purposely didn't include Rad's name in his article or the deal with the Sonics came at the last minute. _________________ Game 7 2010 NBA Finals - Lakers 83, Boston 79 |

OK, they are a better regular season team, that is good for a franchise who has almost always missed the playoffs.
By the way, defense wins championships and helps you to go deep in the postseason...
I wish I had Wilcox, not Rad...

Which Laker team have you been following these last couple of years? Of course we can stand pat.
Might be better to stand patgiven that the last few trades we've done have nabbed us the likes of Kwame Brown... |

Wilcox wasn't getting any real PT. Besides, Singleton is better than him and he needs time too. The Clipper defense is very underrated (currenly 1st in Opp FG%, but no one knows except Clipper fans). They desperately need outside shooting to prevent teams from zoning up. Rad is a one-year rental who will almost certainly do more than Wilcox. |

1 bad trade no arguments
But then there's the Chris Mihm aquisition
That - especially considering the price of his K - is a HUGE steal. |

it's sad to see that Clippers are trying to get to the top and the lakers are holding on to a dream (2007/2008) and wasting their star's prime.
We'll have to see if history repeats itself and if Sterling cares about keep this winning core or money. But, the Clippers are heading in the right direction now. |

Solid pick up for the Clippers considering Wilcox was only making $2.8 million. Wilcox was going to be a restricted free agent this summer and the Clippers were not going to match.
It looks like the Clippers are making a run at it this year.
On a side note, Coach Dunleavy should be in the running for Coach of the Year along with Avery Johnson, Byron Scott and Flip. After all, Clippers were a lotter team last year and now they have a real shot to compete with Dallas and Spurs. |

Dunleavy has done a great job, but Byron Scott has to be a lock for COY. I figured the Hornets would win about 10 games this year. And now they are doing it without Chris Paul. Scott is a genius. |

Blah Blah Blah
You don't have a clue what you are talking about.
Lakers are looking at every avenue. Just because the guy that you live and breathe for - Kobe Bryant - isn't being maxamized right now isn't my concern.
The Lakers make moves not to satisfy Kobe only fans. They do it to win championships and contend for rings.
If you can't see that is what they are after - and why they have stingy in spending on marginal talent - then you are a fool.
Sometimes I wish Kobe went to the Clippers on a 3 year deal. So his crappy fan base would go with him and then after 3 years of seeing how bad it was - he could come back here.
WITHOUT the fanbase. |
