Quote: | Kevin Durant responds to school handout telling kids to avoid being like him
Kevin Durant is having a pretty good summer. He is obviously in a full on “I have a ring now” mode and is just battling everyone he can set his sights on. He’s confident, as he should be.
Durrant responded to critical comments conservative commentator and ex-ESPNer Britt McHenry made about the Golden State Warriors forward not wanting to visit the White House should an invitation come for the team.
Now, Durant has seen a handout that a teacher gave to kids in school comparing him and Michael Jordan. In the handout, it asks kids to refrain from being like Durant, asking them not to take the easy way out by cheating in class. Instead, it asks them to be more like Michael Jordan and not take shortcuts.
That’s not even a correct interpretation of the facts, much less a very good analogy. Nevertheless, when SB nation published an article on an image of the handout on Twitter, Durant responded.

Firing might be a little harsh but perhaps the person who wrote this handout could put their hardcore sports allegiances away for a minute? Things like this and up on the Internet, you know?

Jordan only cheated on his wife, repeatedly.

Punch your teammates in the face
call vulnerable teenage rookies "flaming f-ing f___ts"
charge outrageous prices for your toy shoes, smile all the way to the bank as the least financially stable people are the ones who buy and wear your gear
help david falk turn the league into a soulless global monolith
just do it

Kevin doesn't seem like he learned that sometimes its best to say nothing which is strange because he was always so withdrawn before. |

And Kevin Durant cheated on his fiancée repeatedly and that's why he's not engaged anymore. Durant is still worse. |

Been listening to KD on Bill Simmons' podcast. Came away thinking that this guy is as candid as he is knowlegeble about basketball. He came across as smart and cool AF. He talked very openly about things like Wiggins, Butler, needing to all give up parts of their games in order to get KAT going in Minny and in order to win.
He also spoke a lot about loyalty and why there isn't any in the NBA.He talked about players having been traded "in their sleep" for as long as there has been an NBA. He's right, of course. Players have to do what they have to to do, just like teams, who may need a player's slot or salary and will think nothing of getting rid of that guy.
He told some funny stories about the last time he got dunked on. It was by Avery Bradley. But even worse than the dunk was hearing Pierce and KG on the bench yelling, "b**** a** n****", "dunk on his a**!!! Really funny the way he described it.
Very humble guy. He mentioned that he was taught a move by another player (didn't say who), and that he still is learning the game.
Lastly, he is a big Y2K player. Playing in GM mode, he got the first pick in tthe draft and guess who he picked? Yeah, Lonzo! True to form, Simmons, in his infinite bias, chose not to even acknowledge this. I wanted so badly to ask KD why he took Zo.
Simmons' podcasts are great if you can take his bias, which surprisingly doesn't show up all that often, but when it does, it's real obvious. |

If you don't improve the team so we win, I'm going to go somewhere that i can.
leads to
Why should I be loyal, you trade away players whenever it suits you.
If teams didn't trade and waive players, the player would leave because the team isn't good enough, so instead they justify leaving because the teams trade and waive players.
The players can leave for any reason they want but ive always found the inductive step of the lebron argument (let's call it that since he's the one whose convinced the playerbase of it) is inconsistent (and distinctly self serving), especially given his first reason for leaving Cleveland. _________________ I believe everything the media tells me except for anything for which I have direct personal knowledge, which they always get wrong |

The Larry Bird rule shows money talks.
Larry would have left the Celtics for money. _________________ -----------------------------------------------------

He wasn't saying that teams don't have the right to do what they feel they need to do, move and acquire players they may think they need in order to win, just that the players, because of free agency, have the right to move as well, be that for money or chance to win. It's only fair. |
