And who's time would he be eating away at if he played backup 2 for us? Josh Hart? The knowledge Wade could pass on to our youth in their rookie seasons and otherwise would be extremely helpful towards their development AND Wade has something left in the tank as well.

Wade wouldn't be signing here to be a backup 2.

Would he be living at his house in Chatsworth and driving to El Segundo every day?

Chicago Bulls open to Dwyane Wade buyout -- if terms favor franchise

Quote:
Speaking on “The Mully and Hanley” show on WSCR-670 AM Thursday morning, Bulls executive vice president John Paxson echoed the sentiment he stated during the offseason when he said any buyout talks would have to be “advantageous” for the franchise. Translated: Wade would have to give up a significant portion of the $23.8 million he opted into a week before his deadline to do so last June 20.

Dwayne Wade, Chicago Bulls agree on contract buyout

LINK

Quote:
The Chicago Bulls and Dwyane Wade have reached agreement on a buyout, sources told ESPN, confirming multiple reports.

Cleveland, San Antonio and Miami are leaders for Wade once his buyout becomes official, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Oklahoma City, which just acquired Wade's friend Carmelo Anthony in a trade, could also have interest, sources told Wojnarowski.

A buyout between Wade and the Bulls had seemed inevitable, with the 35-year-old Wade uninterested in being part of Chicago's rebuilding process.

Dwyane Wade is expected to choose from a group of suitors that includes Cleveland, San Antonio and Miami once his contract buyout becomes official, according to sources. Anthony Gruppuso/USA TODAY Sports
The Chicago Tribune first reported the two sides had agreed to a buyout.

Wade, who is entering his 15th NBA season, averaged 18.3 points, 3.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds last year in his first season with his hometown Bulls.

isn't Cleveland offering Wade a starting role? and you would think he would look at OKC and Miami as well. We're probably number 8 on his list.

I would be shocked if it’s not Cleveland or maybe Miami if he’s over the whole contract thing.

My prediction was that it would take Wade leaving 8m on the table. Didn’t think he would. Crazy.

The Lakers are going to have a hard time trading those two.

Dwyane Wade gave back approximately $8M of his $23.8M salary to reach buyout agreement with Bulls, league sources tell ESPN.

Adrian Wojnarowski, ESPN

I have to wonder if OKC will be a strong suitor now. If Wade is open to them, then I'd expect it to come down to Cleveland and OKC even though Miami and The Spurs are also being mentioned. Unless Popovich sees Wade as a viable replacement for Parker's PG minutes, that could change things I guess. I just don't see Wade's lack of defense being a good fit there.

I’m worried Clarkson will also take a pick or two from us to trade him (Deng is going to be at least 2 1sts).

i honestly don't get how smaller market teams can complain about they're being fodder for star players. Clearly the market doesn't matter for that.

Hopefully Magic pulls something off to make Wade change his mind, dude knows how to communicate so hopefully he convinces Wade to sign here would be awesome if he passes the Thunder and Cleveland to join us.

The problem is we have to clear roster spots to do that.

If they can clear a roster spot they have 17 players two are non guaranteed and the max is 15 so someone else has a guaranteed contract to go by trade or release.

I would love to have Wade here, but I'm not sure what is in it for him. Gabby is from LA I believe, but if his kids are in school in Miami, and he can ring chase and start with BFF Lebron in Cleveland, then I don't see him coming here and backing up KCP. He's already getting 15m from his buyout, so he's not worried about making a ton more money. If Lebron wants him in Cleveland, then I'm sure that's where he'll be going. No if Magic could pull a Wade out of the hat...

He might wind up in OKC, and OKC might disappoint a lot of nostalgic fans this year.
