It's been fun watching Eric's profile rise over the years. That is such a competitive field.

i must just be irrationally optimistic but I really think this team can win close to 50 games and make the playoffs. Here are my thoughts

Center: Lopez is really good and fits our system perfectly. Great offense and can open up the floor with his outside shooting. Zubac great young prospect who can pass and hit the outside shoot with good post moves. Bogut, Bryant, Randle and Nance. Lots of flexibility go play small ball and to overcome injuries. This is a strong unit.

Power Forward: Randle what a body transformation and he has been really working on right hand and outside shoot. He is in great shape and will be able to run all day long which will really help his defense. Nance has gotten in great shape and worked on his offensive game. Another guy who should have significant improvement on both ends of the floor. Kuzma wow this guy is going to get on the floor somehow that i am sure of. All round player on both ends of the court with superior outside shooting. Deng adds depth. This is a really strong unit with depth and versatility.

Small Forward: Brandon Ingram is going to be the man. He has grown taller and gotten stronger and more explosive. He is going to be a start this year. Outside inside game and can play 4 positions right now. Kuzma will be his primary backup and will allow BI to move to the 2 spot in certain lineups. Brewer, Deng bring experienced depth. Clarkson and KCP can play here in small lineup. Really strong an deep unit.

Shooting Guard: KCP really good defense and outside shooting still growing and learning as an up and coming player. Clarkson is a good backup and BI can also play the 2 as Kuzma forces his way into the lineup. Josh Hart brings potential with strong defense and strong outside shooting. A rookie who is ready to play. Another strong Unit.

Point Guard: Lonzo Ball is a transformative player, the type that comes along once a decade. His game is like Magic great passer, good rebounder, good team defense and a good outside shot. He will start out really good and continue to improve. Clarkson is a good backup and Ennis a decent all round point guard. BI can also play here for limited periods of time. This is another strong unit.

Team flexibility a key to success: This is a team that has great size and speed with almost all of the players being on the upswing of their careers. We have depth at every position because we can mix and match players. On defense we should be able to switch so that there are few mismatches regardless of which of our players is defending.

Team Defense: Luke is going to fix this. KCP, Randle, BI, Kuzma, Clarkson, Ball, etc should all be really good defensive players. Great coaching will bring out these skills and this will be one of the great surprises of the season. With out size we will be a good rebounding team too.

Offense: We are going to be fun to watch and we will come at teams in waves with great outside shooting, tons of fast breaks even after make baskets and PNR that will be much better than most people think.

Expect people to gush in wonder at how much this young group of talented players has improved and the big issue Magic Rob will have to deal with is whether to keep our current guys or make trades in season to acquire our max players. Either way we are going to be good this year and for years to come.

GO Lakers!

I am with you. If we don't make the playoffs it means we underperformed or were way injured. It would be a huge disappointment
