im sick of tape delayed games, sound going out, and the picture coming on and off....did i mention the fact that they show pictures of random people on the benches and stands rather then the actual game?

with KCAL's new weather girl, its value is high...we can probably get something good for them. maybe more games on fox sports net or some on abc? trade deadline is approaching...what do you all think?

I know of lots of people who work 9 to 5 and would hate missing the first quarter. You probably don't work , which is why you whine about the tape delayed games , but those of us that do , the delay is a blessing. What about the internet? Won't that ruin the game if you know how it's turning out? Uh , those who come home will sit their asses down , watch the game , and go online later.

You can always go online and watch updated stats and grab a radio feed from somewhere to get it live if it means that much to you.

At least the "2nd" best team in LA HAS a network, let alone (2) networks to divide both home and away games. The Clippers have gotten no love from network execs. The WB wouldn't even pick them up.

that doesnt work if your roommate already knows the score and decides to only watch games we win...thus knowing the result before the game happens. tape delays suck...show the game live at 4, and then again at 630...better ratings than the news

The delay is at most an hour so roommate's should know no more than what the score is at halftime. He has no way of knowing who will win the game (which is what you said , and makes no sense).

Let's face it , KCAL caters to the working man. They patiently wait for the working class to get home and watch their commercials (along with the game). They do not cater to students who are doing nothing past noon and anxiously await the Laker broadcast.

It's pretty stupid this whole argument really. Also , as far as quality , KCAL looks fine on a standard 4:3 television. However , I have a 46" HD set (16:9), (and maybe someone has an answer for this) , and their digital signal looks horrible. Add to that that I have to stretch the damned thing or risk burn-in , it's pretty bad

They cater to casual fans who aren't interested (most likely fans who only have been watching since Shaq) in getting the game live. If the working man was so interested in getting to see the whole game, he could set a VCR, or TIVO to record the damn game. If a hardcore fan can be forced to wait an hour, then the working man can rewind his little tape and watch the last hour.

Or, if the casual fan was indeed interested in seeing the game live, they know that they'll go get NBA League Pass. But since you chumps don't, they get more money out tape delaying and catering to people who actually work. If you're that hardcore, seriously, go spend your money and get NBA League Pass to watch it live.

I see what you tried there , but you failed like Kwame attempting a layup.

To reiterate the point I was trying to make so some (that's how you do it) people get it right , KCAL needs those who they target in advertising to be home and to watch their commercials. What better time than after 5 , when the common work folk , (ie; "the working man") is home and set to enjoy the playoff bound Lakers. You don't show [insert popular television show here] at 2PM , you do it at Prime Time.

Games are blacked out locally. KCAL just ruins everything.

^^ Didn't know that. All I can say is all you can do is wait. Some people such as myself appreciate the tape delayed games and don't have the time or money to set up VCRs, Tivos, or other recording devices.

From KCal's POV, it's not smart showing it at 4 and then 6:30. Less people will watch the second game while a lot more people will be watching the tape delay. Reason: people will know the score to the first game and not watch the 2nd one.

I don't get home from work until 7 pm. I always record the games no matter what ( I have almost 300 or so tapes and dvd's of various games from over the years).

I come home, turn on the tv and the game is usually into the 2nd quarter. No big deal. If it is a really good game, I just wait for the post game interview, then watch what I missed.

As far as the initial complaint about the quality of the broadcast, I think it is rather shallow considering all the hard work and dedication it takes just to get the game on the air.

Most people have NO IDEA what it takes to produce a game; from the production assistants getting the coffee to Joel and Stu doing the p by p and everything in between.

I have nothing but extreme gratitude that I can even come home and pop open a cold one and watch the game. Some people are not that lucky...

Can we somehow include Sasha in this deal?

Rackie Johnson should stay as part of the deal.

i dont care how hard it is to get a basketball game on the air. KCAL is worse than any other network ive seen. too many things go wrong. hire professionals!

The way you are complaining it sounds like maybe you should be watching Tyra's talk show instead.
