From Bill Onram.
One Bogut wrinkle: Some concern within org that Brook Lopez could miss some of preseason with back issues. Insurance?
This is a little more concerning to me. |

You're right. I ran it through the trade machine how you proposed it and it didn't work, but all it needed was one small salary added coming to the Lakers.

Do understand why Bogut was gotten.
Zubac has time to develop. Bigs usually take longer anyway, he's only 20 and he has time. Playing against Lopez and Bogut and having them both mentor him and having them to go up against in practice is good for both Zubac AND Thomas Bryant.
Zubac had a LOT of other personal things going on during summer league that disengaged him, things bigger than basketball.
But the people that gave up on him cause of a poor summer league probably after spending a summer bigging him up. Please do us all a favor, and don't jump back on if and when he starts to play well again. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Agreed. Those that got off the Zubby bandwagon are not wanted and shall not return. |

funny, but I gotta agree...! |
I think Pope is being underrated here. Before his shoulder injury last season Pope shot 40% on 5.5 3's per game over 39 games. After his injury he shot 30% on 6 per.
He had a 8 for 11 game, but he also had a 2 for 12 game so he was very up and down with his shooting. Hopefully it was more of a shot selection thing and he gets a bunch of open looks playing with Lonzo this season. Stays consistent
Also I'd like to point out that Paul George and Brandon Ingram both shot 30% on 2.5 attempts per game in their rookie seasons. |

It also has to do with Lopez having back issues and he's an insurance policy in case he misses time. |

Part of being a professional is being able to do your job despite what is going on outside.
No one has given up on Zubac, you don't need to get hysterical, but it is smart to not be counting on him as a rotation player this season because it is clear he isn't ready.
We will jump on or off the bandwagon as we wish also Dad..... _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

1 year too late.
On another note, Bogut, if he proves to be healthy, wouldn't be a bad "starting" C for 15MPG. next year if we get 2 max guys.
Will be curious to see if Bogut even makes the team and if so would he play? We already have one slow footed C starting. We probably go with speed on the 2nd unit at the 5 (Nance, Randle). That could leave Bogut, Zu, T.Bryant all on the outside looking in. _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' This.
I hate Bogut, but the signing is a no-brainer. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

Again, any Wade trade would be a salary dump; no one actually cares about getting Wade the player. It's 100% about getting rid of Deng.
I'd just as soon trade those 4 for a bag of chips, as long as the bag of chips had an expiring contract. |

20-25 minutes for Bogut is ideal. _________________ I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying. |

It's a steal for the Lakers when you consider how much it cost to jettison Mozgov. I just don't think Chicago does it, even with a future first attached. |

Man it would suck to lose Nance he's one of my fav players in the NBA.
If they would take Randle instead that would be better but the NBA is a business. If thats the price I guess I would pull the trigger |

Michael Jordan retired because his father was murdered.
Zubac can be disengaged from Summer league because he lost his grandfather and his own country was bashing him for not playing for his National Team. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Pacific Notes: Bogut, Walton, Ball, Ingram
Quote: | The one-year, $2.3MM contract Andrew Bogut signed with the Lakers is only guaranteed for $50K, tweets Bobby Marks of ESPN. Bogut and his agent spent the summer trying to convince teams there would be no lingering effects from the broken left tibia he suffered in March while with the Cavaliers. Other organizations expressed interest, but Bogut opted for the Lakers, even though the guarantee is extremely low for a veteran of his caliber. |

If he really is healthy It wouldnt suprise me to see him get 20m a game. Between his needed defense, Lopez's own health issues and Luke he has a good chance to make an impact.
The more I learn about this guy the more I like the signing, assuming his game hasnt aged 10 years from his last injury. |
