It's actually not a bad looking logo and has a nice synergy with the lakers name below and colors.. still wish we didn't use one but oh well... could be a lot worse.

Wonder how LeBron feels about this

Careful now...if the Lakers tried to be different and refuse this jersey ad campaign, the small market owners would go crying to Silver about how the big bad Lakers cheat/tamper and that the lakers need to compensate them accordingly.

Well we just pulled $14MM a year while the small markets are in the single digits... so I guess even when playing by their rules, we win again.
I keep trying to tell em. but they wont listen.

BBB should sell jersey patches, I might buy one.
awww man that would be all kinds of funny.

They should just do it for one game. Lakers vs Clippers home game. BBB patch with a slogan that says "We made it"

I wanted to know more about Wish so I went to their site and they make you signup before you can see anything on the site.

kinda stupid... Now I don't think I'm going to try to understand what wish is.

It's an app that allows you to buy directly from Chinese manufacturers at discount prices. Basically you can buy cheap knock off junk with 3-4 week ship times.

I hate signing up for stuff especially when them make you sign before knowing anything about them. So much so that I thinks it's enough for me to not use their product.

But have you found their app to be any good?

I've never used it. I think you get what you pay for.

Who is "we"? The Buss kids gladly take that money.

From what I heard Jeannie and company get only 25% of the money. The other 25% goes to the NBA and the rest to the players!

Quite a lot of hypocrisy being shown here. The dramatic backlash to advertisement patches in general is stupid as is the slippery slope argument that inevitably follows them.

"Why couldn't the Lakers choose an LA based company?!"

No LA based company was likely willing to match Wish's offer. Lakers are also a much more global brand than most other franchises.

"Why couldn't they pick a nationally known company like Toyota or KFC?!"
Because those logos would look like garbage on the jersey? There's something appealing about the logo being from a lesser known company and only a single dictionary word. At face value, it can be interpreted as trying to inspire faith and restore hope within the imaginations of fans. Quite a bit more romantic than a patch for a burger joint.

"Why wasn't BBB chosen?!"

First of all, if you think LaVar Ball is paying $15 million a year you're crazy. Second of all, Nike competitors are ineligible for jersey patches along with alcohol companies, and official NBA partner (Spalding, Tissot, etc) competitors.

"Having ads on the jerseys is an abomination!!"

We've always had ads on the jerseys. How is this any different than having the Nike/Adidas/NBA logos that have always been present? They're all businesses trying to sell you products. Why hasn't there been backlash against those logos? They don't need to be there any more than the new patches.

"It's just a matter of time until NBA jerseys look like Soccer uniforms!!"

Not really, but you better stop watching NBA games now just in case that might happen one day just to be safe.

The reality is that every person complaining about the logos will not even notice them within two years (the same way we don't notice the Nike logo) because the Lakers did a great job of meshing the patch into the jersey. Bucks fans only wish their franchise did as well as ours.

Of course if you ask a soccer fan about their jersey ads they have the same response: you get used to it. I am sure the league is counting on people getting used to it, probably so they can enlarge/increase the ads. If the ad was benign enough to ignore then it would serve no purpose to the company paying a fortune to have it there. It only exists for you to notice it.

I don't like any of the ads but in terms of appearance, I think the Cavs and Celtics patches look the best by far. Ours is somewhere in the middle, with the Bucks and Kings at the very bottom.

I have to disagree. I hate both the Celtics and Cavs, really like the Bucks and Kings. But nothing is as bad as Brooklyn's.

Well, at least it doesn't look like a soccer jersey....for example, if you didn't know anything about Man U, you would think the Chevy logo is the team's logo.
